The hotel is central but it needs an upgrade. The entrance is scruffy and off-putting, and the moment you get out of the lift, the passage to the rooms is lined by laundry carts, giving it a service entrance feel.
Our room had no outside windows, as it faced the courtyard and the rooms on the side of the lift have their light blocked by the lift so those rooms are very dark.
The courtyard, mentioned by others, has so much potential, but like much of this hotel, it has an air of neglect. One could so easily plant it up with begonias which thrive in the shade, and remove the sad, dead palm. Painting the common areas white would brighten up the place no end, rather than the mournful teal.
The self-service breakfast station was quite good, the staff were excellent, and I loved the fact of having watermelon or lemon chilled water on tap all the time.
