黎萊斯德拉羅維雷飯店(Relais Della Rovere)

Io e mio marito abbiamo soggiornato in questo Relais per 5 notti durante la nostra luna di miele, in una Junior suite. La struttura è meravigliosa, curata nei dettagli e ben organizzata negli spazi, sia all’esterno (piscina molto bella) sia negli interni (l’interno del palazzo è storico, molto suggestivo). La camera era davvero spaziosa, con una vista su Colle Val d’Elsa e un bagno grande e luminoso, con una vasca proprio sotto la finestra. La colazione era ottima, con tante scelte. Un merito speciale allo staff che è stato gentilissimo, mio marito si è ammalato durante il soggiorno e hanno provveduto a mandarci una cena in camera (senza farci pagare il room service), ci hanno fornito il numero della guardia medica e soprattutto ci hanno permesso di fermarci una notte in più nella Junior suite scontandoci un po’ il prezzo della notte, essendo impossibilitati a partire per via dell’influenza. Tutto perfetto, torneremo sicuramente!

This place used to be the private residence of cardinal Della Rovere who ended up becoming pope Julius II. How’s that for a watercooler conversation after your holiday?! It’s truly amazing to stay at a place which breathes so much history. Traces of its 900 year heritage are to be seen literally everywhere in heraldry, architecture, furniture, masonry etc. The rooms are agriturismo style but equipped with luxurious marble bathrooms. It says ‘has airconditioning’ but this is central for the whole building and you can’t adjust so that’s a bummer. The place has a great patio style garden, and grand corridors/stairways. Luca (the bartender) serves amazing cocktails which are not only delicious but also pieces of art. In addition he comes up with personalized cocktail suggestions based on previous orders. Aga (waitress) is super friendly and makes restaurant guests feel right at home. Food is flawless and offers good value for money (you can enjoy diner with desert with 4 for ~€100).

What a beautiful site hidden in green in Val d’Elsa. We booked this accommodation as my son and I planned a cooking class of Jul’s Kitchen which is nearby during autumn break. What a great hotel; probably it helped a lot that the sun shined bright too but everything is well kept and peaceful here. Personnel is kind and helpful and this is Italian hospitality at its best. Lunch at the small restaurant at the pool or great dinner in the evening at Il Cardinale, all indicates the marvelous Italian cuisine . Don’t know why this hotel doesn’t have a 5* ranking to be honest, they deserve it!

Relais Della Rovere is a beautiful hotel, with comfortable, well appointed rooms and a lovely pool. The breakfast spread is really incredible, and having afternoon drinks around the pool was divine. Parking is easy, and it was a convenient location to the areas of Tuscany we were exploring. And the staff were helpful an very friendly!

This is truly one of the nicest hotel stays I have ever experienced. It is such an elegant resort, spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Our room was in a little "dovecot" type building and was huge with a separate sitting room/dressing room area and ultra-modern and spacious bathroom. The one thing that set this resort apart from me was the peace and quiet, you literally don't hear a sound apart from an odd car passing but that's it. No loud music, no one shouting or messing at the pool, it was all just very civilized but in a casual way. The staff were really lovely, particularly Luca at the bar area who made the most fabulous Limoncello cocktails for me pre-dinner each evening. Another massive plus for the resort was its proximity to the small town of Colle di Val d'Elsa, when I was researching where to stay in Tuscany I noticed that most of the very nice resorts were outside of towns, this was literally a 5 minute walk or 1-2 minutes by car. The town itself was typically charming with a lovely piazza/square which had some restaurants and bars, a supermarket and a chemist as well as some other small shops. All in all, it was such a memorable and pleasant stay for us, we will definitely return :)
