威賽德旅館(Wayside Inn)

It’s our 3rd time staying here and we won’t be staying here again for 2 key reason first one being the main 1) front desk staff is not polite, they mistreat customers and even are offensive to customers for no reason (just a grumpy hateful front desk lady greeted us) I was so nice to them but they still found ways to offer an insult despite our kindness as customers to her - the front desk who is supposed to welcome us. Cannot comprehend this have never experienced it. For $500 a night even for $100 night, staff should welcome you but there you go - we are never coming back to your property. You should train Amanda and your staff to be nice (the evening shift was nice) but morning shift with Amanda turned us off and made our 1 day visit unpleasant. Second reason 2) fireplaces are gas burning even when they are not turned on (you will see a flame continuously there) and CO2 levels are at unhealthy level / dangerous for guests especially infants. This should not be allowed at all but few people know it’s unsafe. Hope they fix it asap.

Rooms were very old and outdated. Parking situation is TERRIBLE! There’s 22 rooms and 14 spots so if you don’t get in early you have to park in the street. One of the receptionists was quite rude although the first two were very helpful. The garden units are very dark so be sure to ask for upstairs units. Location is AMAZING … close to the main part of Ocean Ave and all the shopping and restaurants.

I only stayed for a night, but I found the Wayside Inn absolutely charming and delightful. My king room was small but not cramped and very comfortable. Service at the front desk was friendly and efficient. The location is fantastic - it's a block away from all the shops and restaurants on Ocean Avenue, and a lovely half mile walk to the beach.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It had a dip in the center, so it was impossible for 2 people to sleep comfortably. The sofa and chair in the suite were also very uncomfortable. The sofa sagged when you sat on it and the chair was stiff and hard and shaped so you had to sit very upright. All of the front doors in the area we stayed in had to be slammed to shut properly, so we constantly heard door slamming, especially at night. Would not recommend.

Disappointing. They advertise rooms with kitchen and fireplace but my room had neither. Was in a corner room...very noisy. They don't have enough spaces onsite for everyone to park so you have to park on the street. It's free but you have to move your car every 2 hours during the day. The place is cute and well maintained but if I return to Carmel, I'd try someplace else. There are plenty of other options.

An extended weekend get away for my husband and I. Excellent location, able to walk to all of our favorite restaurants and the beach. Clean rooms. The beds, pillows and linens very comfortable. Because it's a motel, some outside noise can be heard but Carmel is a very quiet town after 10:00 or so.

Great hotel. A bit pricey for what you get, but location, location, location. Couldnt get into room until after 430 due to short staffed. No parking on site had to park on the street.

It was bad and dated, it was the worst ,had to be worst in all hotels in the area and we have stayed at a lot of others. couldn't give it a worst rating
