碼頭之家精品飯店及 Spa - 紐馬克(Dock House Boutique Hotel and Spa by Newmark)

Firstly, I'd like to complement the staff on duty who have been helpful, friendly & willing. We booked a Luxury Suite for 3 nights. Upon check-in/ arrival we were allocated a Luxury Room (as we later found out) the only Luxury Suite was already occupied! We have Pre-paid for our stay in a Luxury Suite. We have asked to be compensated for the room downgrade. We will be changing rooms today, but as a result we haven't unpacked or been able to settle in & relax which is disappointing. We had booked 3 nights here (in a Suite) for that very reason. Our current Room, Dock House Room 4 - desperately needs some TLC. - Ripped & stained bedroom curtains; - shower needs a deep clean & maintenance; shower head not working properly; - bedroom carpet is heavily soiled, stained & in dire need of steam cleaning; - bathroom tiles need new grout; - toilet flush is (still) broken - lock to patio door was broken upon arrival - we requested firm pillows in advance. These were not provided & had to be requested late at night when we went to bed. Also, the aircon in gym is broken. It is the height of summer! We're now paying to use the Virgin gym down the road instead. This is one of the reasons we booked here as it had a gym on site. This establishment is not worthy of five stars. Reading some of the other reviews, basic maintenance & upkeep appears to be lacking. When did the GM last spend a night in hotel, or even inspect the hotel rooms individually? Let's see how we get on for the rest of our stay...

The hotel is very well placed in the V&A area and is very boutique. The staff were excellent especially Donovan and Ashleigh who looked after us all the time. The room was spacious with a separate bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the balcony was spectacular.

The location of the hotel was really great, walking distance to bars and restaurants in the waterfront. The hotel itself was just okay. For the price, we were expecting a bit more but it was fine. We might have just had a few odd experiences - we came back one night and there were bags of trash left in our room from another room haha and upon check-in, we were being sold a diamond shopping experience. It might have just been an off encounter. Pool area was nice and bar staff were really friendly! Room was really spacious.

The Dock House was a delightful place to stay in Cape Town - spacious and well-appointed rooms in a charming and historic building, good location and with excellent service. Ashley our host was delightful - engaging, knowledgeable and took great steps in ensuring a wonderful stay. Be sure to ask him stories about the history of the Dock House.

What a beautiful building, inside and out, right in the lively area of V&A. Everything was perfect and nothing was too much for a member of staff by the name of Ashley, he was attentive to all our needs and his ashleychino in the morning was a perfect start to the day.

We spent two, three day spells here at the beginning and end of our holiday to South Africa. The standard on both occasions was extremely high, whether we ate at the Dock House for breakfast or had an evening meal in the dash restaurant at the sister hotel, the Queen Victoria nearby. The staff were overwhelmingly polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. This is an excellent base for visiting Cape Town Waterfront and excursions to the wine lands, Table Mountain or trips around the Cape peninsular.

The staff where delightful . Professional helpful and very kind . Nothing was too much trouble especially Ashley was particularly good and deserves a special mention. Thank you

A welcoming room, with a beautiful view and always kept tidy by the staff who have always been kind, professional and attentive to our comfort. We felt pampered at all times. It is also located in a very safe area where there is an air of joy and sharing.

The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the waterfront. The rooms are beautifully presented clean and spacious and the bathroom is excellent. The separate dining room where we had breakfast is also beautiful. The breakfasts are substantial and lots of choice. Across the courtyard is the sister Hotel Queen Victoria which you are able to enjoy delightful drinks and food.
