Just home from a week at this hotel. Good location 1 minute walk from the beach. After reading reviews I emailed and requested a room with a bathroom door as some rooms don’t have them - got a room with a private bathroom no problem on arrival. The view however was pretty terrible but what can you do.. on the back of this, you get the sun on the balcony for quite some time which we liked. Room was small, not the cleanest. Floors were pretty disgusting we had to go out and buy bug spray as there was ants in the room, on the 5th floor. We asked the staff to get someone to come and sort it but nobody turned up hence us going to Aldi to buy it. On further inspection the floor hadn’t been cleaned properly as there was a bit of bread left under the bed that was attracting them. We hadn’t had any food in the room as we had just arrived. The pool area was fine but the actual pool itself was pretty disgusting, I went out and bought a net to collect the debris from the pool and done the best I could. The pool area is in a bit of a sun trap which is quite good. Pool doesn’t have a shallow end shallow enough for small children so probably avoid if you have toddlers who want to paddle. The downside is that the rooms don’t have a fridge, so we were out buying water as and when we needed it which was annoying as we were self catering.. No facilities for actually catering for yourself .. had to eat out every meal. Can buy a cup of tea or coffee from the bar downstairs for 2€. we had breakfast in the hotel once, 9€ each and it wasn’t up to much so would probs avoid as lots of restaurants around. Wi-Fi was fine. Reception area/sitting areas etc were nice. Beds were comfy, our bathroom was quite modern so no complaints with bathroom.

Agreed with above, more than a 1 star hotel . I’ve stayed in worse 3 star hotels! Rooms and public areas including the pool are spotless . Yes the room is basic (note - no kettle but we bought one at the Chinese store (hiper Balears) but the room is every day immaculately cleaned by housekeeping . Staff were super friendly except one lady who came in and went in the office just off the bar area . She was miserable looking always and a let down to her otherwise fantastic team . Ice creams and baguettes during the day were about 2 and 5 euros respectively. FANTASTIC location . Couldn’t ask for more for a short break - nearby Lidl, Aldi , Carrefour . Perfect for a short break for us ! Exceeded our expectations

We had the best time at this hotel. The hotel is clean and well kept and has recently been done up. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. Our room was 503 on the top floor (I think this is an older room, but it was pained to match the rest of the hotel, I think they are slowly doing it up). The beds were very comfy, the balcony was nice with a table and chairs with a lovely sea view. The breakfast was good, the standard Continental/hot breakfast. The pool area is lovely and there were plenty of sun loungers and cushions. The pool area was very clean. The bar and reception are well kept and the prices for food and drink very reasonable. We would defo come again.

After reading negative reviews on here we didnt expect the Ritz, we were pleasantly suprised, Very Clean Hotel, Great friendly polite Staff, good food for the price you pay. the Pool area look dire on some pictures we saw but it was a lot nicer then we expected. You have to think what you pay for your accomodation and realise yes its Not a 5 star Hotel but a very pleasant in my opinion 3 star. genuinely have a very pleasant stay here.

The hotel is definitely more than 1 star ⭐. Clean room. Fresh Towels everyday.staff were lovely. Paid daily for breakfast which was good value. You could eat as much or as little as you wish. Clean hotel.nice bar. Near the beach. Pool was also lovely.

Staff were friendly and helpful and we paid for breakfast which was pretty good for the money. Had really big continental options and small hot food section. We did, however, find problems in the room the main one being the cockroaches. We had three in total during our 5 night stay and one even crawled on me, they were also nearly impossible to catch or kill. The other problem was the shower as the bit that holds the shower head on the wall was broken so we had to hold it ourselves. No air con but that was expected when we booked the hotel. Overall, stay would've been fine if it wasn't for the cockroaches.

Allocated room 201 on arrival, disappointed. Very small room, layout really bad and smelled of bleach. No water on arrival! Told by reception that water off due to construction work which was deafening!! We coped with the layout, struggled to get into shower due to placement of balcony and has to bring a chair in from balcony to dry my hair near mirror, no plug sockets but luckily I brought an extension lead. BUT…..the location of the hotel is fabulous and the breakfast was the best we have had! Massive choice of hot food, pastries, meats and cheeses, bread, jam and conserves, this really was fabulous. After the initial shock of the room, probably just the one next to the lift, we would certainly return. The pool area was a sun trap and only us there most days. All in all we had a great holiday , room aside

We have just got back from 6 nights at the Galaxia, booked as part of a last minute, cheap package holiday with love holidays. For this reason (and after reading negative reviews) we had very little expectations and just agreed we needed a bed to sleep in, and that we could spend our days on the beach. Firstly, upon arriving, we were informed by the receptionist that there was a “water issue that would be resolved tomorrow”, so we were actually placed in a sea view room in the 4 Star Hotel across the road for one night, with complimentary breakfast. It was my birthday- so no complaints. THE ROOM: The next day we were able to check in smoothly at The Galaxia (all be it- a little scared after staying the night in a 4* hotel). We were placed in Room 204 and genuinely - other than the fact there was no air con and we didn’t have a sea view- very little difference to the Gran Bahia (expect a bathroom door..but that’s no biggie for us). The lovely female receptionist provided us with a fan which pretty much solved the no air con problem- and our view was still lovely as we had the lovely painted mural on the building opposite right across from our balcony which gave it some character. Our room was cleaned daily and the beds were very comfortable. The only issue we had was the shower as if you put it to its full power, it jetted upwards and flooded the room, the plastic shower curtain was also a little outdated. However- to be expected in a 1 star. Furthermore we found the WiFi to be very poor- but easily solved as pretty much all the surrounding bars and restaurants had free wifi. THE POOL: We loved the pool area. It was clean, the wooden Sun beds with comfortable green cushioning were great! Much nicer than the plastic ones were used to in cheap hotels. THE BAR: The bar was lovely, very reasonably priced and the two barmen we met were incredibly polite (and generous with measures!). There is a pool table, lots of seating, both inside and out as well as a fully stocked bar. THE FOOD: We did not pay to eat at The Galaxia (we booked room only) as we had read previous reviews about the food being poor. We cannot provide on opinion on the food as we did not eat there, however for a 1* hotel, you mustn’t presume a gourmet meal. Furthermore there were so many brilliant- reasonably priced restaurants and bars around which made our holiday! Our personal favourites were The Baracuda Bar, The Poker Bar, The Jamaica & The Miami. THE STAFF: The staff we came across were very friendly and accommodating. THE LOCATION: The location of the hotel is probably the best asset. A stones throw away from the beach, restaurants, bars, a supermarket, cafes. A five minute walk gets you to the ‘Can Picafort’ sign, where we were able to book a boat trip, and there were other attractions also. The Can Picafort Market also took place here on Fridays. There is also a stop for the Can Picafort train less than 50m from the hotel. We could not have asked for a better l

Arrived at midnight after a flight delay to be put in a ‘temporary’ room until 9am the morning after and thank the lord it was temporary! Got to reception at 8.50am to be told ‘it isn’t 9am yet’ and to come back. Went back to reception in last nights clothes as unable to unpack to be told there will be no room ready until midday (12 hours after arrival) Reception staff shouting ‘what is wrong with the temporary room, you can stay there!’ This room was NOT as advertised; not even close! Eventually got our permanent room which was not much better. Shower so small you could not even turn around, the shower head just loose with no fitting to prop it up. No bedding change in 10 days even though sheets are dirty. The ‘made’ beds were as we left them. Rooms dirty in general. Breakfast barley edible. The beans are doused with vinegar so the only option is egg and stale bread. Wi-Fi does not work. We came for a ‘no thrills’ holiday but this is worse than we could have ever imagined. Cannot fault the location or the comfort of the dirty bed but unfortunately nothing else good to say about our stay here.

Reviews for this hotel seem to vary dramatically. I think it depends on two things, the room you are allocated and your expectations. Prior to arrival I emailied the hotel to ask if it would be possible to receive a refurbished room. We did receive one although there may have been an element of luck as the hotel was full. Our room was fresh and minimalist with a sea facing balcony on the 2nd floor. Yes, the room was hot at times but not unbearable with the fan provided as our balcony was in the shade. We had no toliet door, no fridge and the shower did flood the bathroom floor but we knew all this in advance and for a 1* at the price paid we could easily live with this. We went with half board as we were on a tight budget and it was fine, edible, hot and excellent value for money. The bar was very reasonably priced, had a pool table and nice atmosphere. We found the staff to be pleasant. Only downside to us was we had a late flight home and there was no chance of a late check out. No shower room, only the use of the loo in the bar area.

I don’t understand why this hotel has such bad reviews! I have just returned home after a week here. Yes, you do get what you pay for- but this hotel deserves more than 1 star. Cleaners came to our room every day, and gave us bottles of water, fresh towels etc- the room always smelt of bleach and very clean. The room itself was modern and fresh, the beds were extremely comfy. There isn’t any air con, but we had a huge industrial fan in our room which honestly did the trick considering we were in 32 degree heat! Our room never felt too hot, and this wasn’t an issue for me or my friend. The pool area is lovely, beds are very comfy and come with cushions (some say that they don’t, but they absolutely do) The hotel bar and reception area is really pretty, not to mention the cocktails are the cheapest I had over the full week, and they tasted the strongest! I can’t comment on the food, as I was room only. The staff always have a smile on their face and aren’t rude- this hotel is under staffed and they work extremely hard. Some staff have a language barrier- but that’s easily fixed with google translate! The hotel is in the perfect location, only a minute away from the beach and all the main bars and restaurants. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, it’s clean, comfy beds, the best location & reasonable prices. If you’re expecting a super high end luxurious hotel, this may not be for you. But, for the purpose of a pit stop it was perfect for my trip! I think a lot of the reviews posted for this hotel are only when they’re negative, and not positive- I’d recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in this resort!☺️

Went to this hotel expecting the basics due to it being 1 star. We got this as a very cheap package deal through loveholidays but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel location is perfect, right on the beach and close to all shops. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed. There was quite a big selection for breakfast(the cost worked out about £3/4 per day which was totally worth it) the pool area was nice, quiet and peaceful and always sun loungers available and we had a lovely spacious balcony. I wasn’t expecting there to be any air con so was grateful that there was a big fan in the rooms and we didn’t have to pay any extras for it. Only downsides would be that the pool was a little dirty as there was a storm earlier in the week but it never got cleaned. The rooms don’t have fridges in which is quite inconvenient due to having nowhere to put drinks, creams etc. Some of the staff seem a little uptight and like they don’t want to be there. We were charged £50 extra on arrival for city tax, usually in other places in Europe it’s usually around £20 for the week so this seemed high. I would definitely recommend for anybody looking for a great location, something more quiet and no frills. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel doesn't deserve one star! I was a bit nervous before coming after reading the reviews but come on people!The price is really good,the location is perfect,there is a nice swimming pool with good depth!Food is a buffet and has plenty of local options and English stuff as well.People working at this hotel are all really nice and did not have any issues with communication!I asked for sea view room and the reception guy smiled to me and said I'll to what I can and gave us room with sea views on the 4th floor!The room is basic but clean and nice. I don't understand negative reviews. I would definitely come back here again. What's more the prices of cocktails in the bar are lower than in the most of bars/pubs in the area!
