阿普爾頓豪生飯店(Howard Johnson by Wyndham Appleton)

The hotel is what it is. It is old and has been sort of redone. The front desk manager was very polite and hospitable, even when I asked for a new set of sheets because of anxiety. The hotel is not the best in the world, but if you are not going to be spending a bunch of time in it and are just there to sleep, it's honestly fine. We drove up to go to a Packer game and were happy to have somewhere close to sleep. I will say though, the beds were so unbelievably uncomfortable that we had to buy a mattress pad in order to sleep. For me, this was worth it because it was still so much cheaper than other hotels, but it is something you should know. Check for cleanliness, bring a mattress pad and your own pillows, and expect what you pay for.

The photos on the hotel listing look better than what you actually get, which is a humid, not very clean room with a poor working A/C. The hotel is rundown and lists a pool, but it is under maintenance. (And from reading other reviews, it's been under maintenance for a long time). Free breakfast is yogurt and bread, so we passed. There is no maid service throughout your stay. Our shower also did not drain well, so we had to stand in dirty water while bathing. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I would overlook some of these things if the stay was cheaper (i.e. you get what you pay for), but it wasn't much cheaper compared to other hotels in the area.

It was horrible the door didn't close all the way and we found 3 cockroaches in the morning when we were checking out

I booked this property on the cheaper end and says they have a pool, they do not have the pool even filled. So I checked out within 10 mins of check in to stay at another hotel and it was non refundable. Do not advertise that you have a pool when you do not!

Said it offered continental breakfast but there was none offered. Staff was not friendly or accommodating.

Property looks pretty nice online but don’t be fooled by the pictures …spend a little more money and go somewhere nicer …

The breakfast area wasn't open, I don't know how long they haven't had breakfast for, if it was just today or a permanent closure

The room has a wierd smell. I saw fruit flies in the room also. Pretty dirty overall.
