Customer service was very good. Location a few minutes drive to main tourist attractions. Breakfast was great

Pros: Nice water pressure, sparkling clean toilet, cold mini fridge (kept ice cream frozen and water bottles chilly from fridge), good tasting ice Cons: Weird clicking noise all night, trash not emptied, stained chaise, no bag for ice bucket, dirty soap tray Our room looked and smelled clean, but there was a pink stain on the chaise lounge, the soap tray had a brown circle of gunk on it, and there was still trash in one of the trash cans. I was not about to use an ice bucket with no bag in it, but at least the plastic cups were individually wrapped. The mini fridge was nice and cold, keeping our ice cream pints frozen and chilling out complimentary Kirkland water bottles in 20 mins. Even though I closed the shower curtain fully, and made sure the magnets were properly attached on the inside of the tub, there was a pool of water on the floor when I came out. The bed was decently comfortable and springy, but the bedspread was very thin and the "fitted sheet" was a flat sheet that was too small for the bed, not covering the bottom 2 inches on the top. The continental breakfast was full of somehow-dry danishes and chocolate filled crepes. Coffee was meh, cereal options were good, but I didn't see milk. I did see yogurt, but it didn't feel the least bit cold.

Fair breakfast, very good service in reception and breakfast management

Hotel/motel was nice. You can tell the property is old but it’s so clean and well maintained, the maintenance/grounds keeper seems as he takes pride in his community and office/admin staff is nice resourceful. I am not giving a five star because breakfast area could be bigger, other then that clean, free breakfast, spacious rooms, and lots of parking. Pricing is reasonable for everything they offer.

So glad we found this hotel for our Universal Studios trip. It was a great location, just a 15 minute drive on back roads- no major highways to the Park. Clean, better than average breakfast, and cute vintage lunch diner on site. Also found a delicious Chinese restaurant across the street.

The breakfast is a shame, they have nothing available except some breads and cereal, asking about egg the lady on the counter said we are out for today even it was 7:30 in the morning, looks like she lied because when i left and came back after 10 minutes there was on egg on the display so they usually keep only one or two eggs at a time to save some money.

Bien ubicado. Tiene lo básico para solo llegar a dormir con seguridad y las instalaciones están bien mantenidas. Muy buena ubicación. El desayuno es muuuy básico pero está bien. Atención personal pésima y limpieza de la camarista deficiente. Estacionamiento gratis y seguro es una buena ventaja

The Portfino Inn is a conveniently located, clean hotel with a friendly staff and free parking. It would be perfect if they kept the facilities in good shape. I've stayed there twice in the last few months. On my first visit my sister had no hot water in her room. (We discovered later that the hot and cold water lines had been switched.) On my latest visit, a hole in the bathroom door had been repaired but not painted. It seems regular maintenance could solve these problems.

The property suited for our needs. A few nights in the LA area at a reasonable price. The photos do make it look more modern than it is, but it was clean and the facilities were as expected for the rating. One negative was the lady in the breakfast area each morning. She doesn't work there but likes to tell guests what they are doing wrong whilst you are trying to self serve breakfast.
