Stayed here for 2 nights before and 1 night after a cruise. All interactions with front door and front desk staff were terrible. Unfriendly and arrogant. On second visit I was told I’d turned up at the wrong Alvear Hotel and should take a taxi to the other one. My cruise agent spoke to them and showed them my booking was correct and I was at the right hotel. No apology or remorse for keeping me waiting while it got sorted. Key cards only work 50% of the time - again they don’t care. Facilities are good just don’t expect a pleasant stay.

We arrived yesterday after a night flight… our tour company Condor Travel arranged for an early check in at 0830 am which was very helpful. The room is clean and has a great shower. Sadly the room noise from the air conditioning was very loud through the night. We can also hear the elevator… and I think the breakfast restaurant must be above us as we were woken up at approximately 4am with music… as we are returning shortly after a few days away… we will request a better room. The maintenance man was brilliant… we couldn’t get the safe to close or the air conditioning to work… we put a call into reception desk and within 10 minutes it was all sorted…thank you. We ate in the main restaurant for lunch the Caesar Salad was first class and the club sandwich big enough for 2 with fries. We will update on our return in a few days.

O hotel possui localização privilegiada, no microcentro da cidade. Está próximo a rua Florida, ao Obelisco e Galeria Pacífico. O quarto é confortável e a ducha ótima. Os pontos negativos são o elevador que demora demais e cabe apenas 4 pessoas e o banheiro que para tomar banho tem que subir na banheira que é mais alta e prejudica que tem mobilidade reduzida.

I assign a relatively low rating for the overall experience due to two factors: 1. A very poor breakfast and 2. A front desk experience that was less than satisfactory, mainly because two out of three of the staff were young and inexperienced—and most of the issues I experienced were due to a single, young lady, who would benefit from additional customer training. On 1, the quality of items was unsatisfactory—the orange juice was not a juice at all but some sugary, orange flavored drink; the cut fruit was mushy pieces of melon and orange, and kiwis (on one day). The scrambled egg was tough. The yogurt was full of sweeteners and artificial flavors. The cake and danishes were stale. On 2, I asked for a receipt for the hotel bill, which I had paid in cash and was told that I could have an email copy later but would have to wait to get a printed receipt at checkout as the system was difficult to work with. In order to ensure that I had a receipt for a cash payment I agreed to wait. With time running out for an international flight to catch, I waited patiently for some time (close to ten minutes) as the desk lady took the time to serve other customers—asking about tours and the like. Finally, I asked about the receipt again and was given a rude answer. I asked for the manager and was told that none was available, and I would just have to wait if I needed a hard copy of my receipt. Eventually, a receipt was printed for me but it was just an invoice and I had to then ask for another iteration showing a cash payment.

We stayed here for 2 nights 18/2/24-20/2/24 and glad we did. The room was big and the shower was powerful. There is also tea and coffee in the room along with air conditioning. There is a continental breakfast and you can also order eggs. The hotel is well situated it’s about 10 minutes walk to Puerto Madero where there are lots of bars and restaurants and if you stay there over the weekend there is a really good market about 4 blocks behind the hotel.
