What a great find Calhoun House was. The rooms are mini suites with plenty of room for the stay. The building is charming and historic and the rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Special mention must go to the range of essential provided on arrival, complimentary apple pastries from a local bakery, fresh milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, breakfast items and snacks. The hotel had lovely views over the mountain opposite and it was lovely to sit out on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the place. It was very convienient for Bryson City centre and the Smoky Mountain Railroad. Bryson City was lovely little place with nice shops and restaurant and walking back in the evening felt very safe. Ed and Shirley called by for a chat and were good to talk to, their hotel is a credit to the hard work they have put into it and we have no hesitation in recommending to other travellers.
