Renters are provided bikes and kayaks to enjoy all that this location has to offer. Our home comes with 2 - 4 person golf carts. We are a short 5-minute walk to the chapel and lighthouse. Harbor village restaurants are just beyond that. Several public beach accesses are only a 5-minute golf cart ride away. Watch the world go by on the rocking chair front porch. Enjoy the expansive screened porch with peek-a-boo views of the golf course. There is a tri-fold window that opens between the porch and the gourmet kitchen which is perfect for entertaining when the weather is cooler. Living space is open, inviting, and tastefully decorated.Our home is a short 10-minute walk to the ferry terminal and beach access #5. Because of the convenient location, it is easy to get to and from the ferry terminal without the need for the tram. Beautifully appointed and professionally stocked and styled by a BHI premiere interior designer, this home will not disappoint. A 5 minute walk to the beach access, this home features a gourmet kitchen, bar, two living spaces, 2 porches. Amenities galore!This home is a reverse floor plan with the main living/dining/kitchen/powder and furnished covered porch on the 2nd floor. The beautifully appointed living room includes two sofas, swivel seating and a picture frame Smart TV. The fully stocked kitchen includes a dining bar to seat 4 and GE Profile appliances. The spacious dining room offers seating for 8 with additional seating for 4 at the breakfast bar. A wine/beverage fridge will chill your drinks of choice while you make cocktails or coffee at the built-in bar. Also on this floor is a powder bath. Gather on the covered porch overlooking the River and the Oak Island Lighthouse. West Beach is a 2 minute walk! The first floor consists of a spacious porch leading into a gathering space/den complete with a sectional and TV. Also on the first floor are all 5 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms. The spacious primary bedroom features a king bed, sitting area and TV, ensuite bathroom (shower) and walk-in closet. Bedroom 2 also includes a king and ensuite bathroom (shower). Bedroom 3 is a spacious bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds (extra long twins over queens). It shares a hall bathroom with shower/tub. Bedroom 4 is a queen bedroom that also shares the hall bathroom. Bedroom 5 is a queen bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower/tub). Included are exceptional linens for a good night's sleep, plush towels for bath and beach and a fully stocked kitchen. Other kitchen amenities include: blander, panini press, waffle iron, Crock Pot, and a crab pot. The home includes 2 golf carts (a 4 seater and 6 seater), a portable crib, high chair, beach chairs and umbrellas available for use. There is also a gas grill and charcoal grill, a spacious/enclosed outdoor shower. We have a wonderful hammock on our porch and a corn hole set is available for guests. This beautiful renovated Nantucket inspired cottage in Surfmans Walk is nestled in the maritime forest, just a short East Beach, the most popular beach on BHI. It is also a short walk (and even shorter golf cart ride) to Shoals Club, The Commons Park, Bald Head Island Conservancy and miles of biking, hiking and walking trails. Your hosts, Catherine and Brian, make sure you have everything you need to have a beautiful beach vacation. The two screened porches and tree-canopied patio with fresh salt air and the sounds of soothing surf in the distance offer a perfect backdrop to read, drink a glass of wine, cook out, have your morning coffee and relax with family. The back screened porch has a beautiful swinging bed and directly accesses a boardwalk complete with ancient oaks, Spanish moss and a community gazebo. Outdoor deck is outfitted with gas grill and comfortable seating. Al fresco dining is available in the screened-in porch and the deck. This house provides extra privacy as each bedroom has it’s own bathroom and smart TV. There are two bedrooms in the main house. The master bedroom has a king bed. The other bedroom in the main house has 3 twin beds (2 twins and a trundle). There is also a detached tree-house style guest cottage over the garage, which provides extra privacy with a queen-sized bed, smart TV and ensuite full bathroom. The crofter being detached from the house gives the guests added privacy and quiet. Cottage is well stocked with all the comforts of a relaxing beach vacation—WiFi, 2 golf carts (6-person and 4-person), heated outdoor shower, 6 beach chairs, 4 cruiser bikes, cooler, bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, beach umbrellas, sand toys, boogie boards, surf board, board games, books, puzzles, portable high chair, pack n’ play crib, Keurig and regular coffee makers, blender, crock pot and fully stocked kitchen. Bike helmets are not provided. Bike pump is in the garage. Weekly rentals are Saturday-Saturday in summer. We will entertain shorter stays outside of the high season. Message me to discuss.Our house has the option to purchase temporary memberships at Shoals Club (pool/restaurant/beach access/fitness center) AND Bald Head Island Club (golf/tennis/pool/restaurant/croquet/fitness center). Not all homes have access to both clubs. Shoals Club is closest to the house (5 minute walk), oceanfront and offers pools, dining, bars, fitness center and beach access. Bald Head Island club offers golf, tennis, croquet, dining, pools, park and water slide. Both clubs offer beautiful views and excellent food. Photos of the clubs are included in the pictures for our house. If playing golf on vacation is important to you, then you need to rent a house that provides the option for a golf membership to BHI Club. This house provides this option.Another benefit of our house is having 2 golf carts—4-person and 6-person. 2 carts enable groups to separate for the many different activities the island has to offer. Amazing restaurants, a spa, and a fully stocked market are minutes away from this quintessential Bald Head beach cottage.
