Sit outside by the fountain and enjoy a glass of wine or coffee as you watch the turkeys and deer stop by. Perhaps catch a glance of the river otters that live in the pond, or catch a fish. Animals we have seen include coyotes, deer, turkeys, foxes, bobcats, rabbits, fish, mt lion, heron, bald eagle, snakes, salamanders. We are up against federal land and our pond supports an abundance of life. Kayaks are available. Relax in the hammocks and watch the stars.A straw bale home is a environmentally sustainable type of architecture. The walls are over 18" thick and this home is built to passively heat in the winter and cool in the summer. There are solar panels and the beautiful concrete floors have radiant heat in winter and naturally cool the home in summer. We consider this house to be a piece of art. We are so happy to share it with you and hope you will make many happy memories.****If you are bringing small kids; this is a fragile home. Strawbale is covered with breathable lime plaster which some small hands may want to gouge, pick or otherwise destroy. ****There is a large fountain with over two feet of water outside the back door. There are several steep cliffs, drop offs and areas to fall. There are wild animals all around. It is a magical home and surroundings but we have cliffs, ponds- you get the idea. Whether you sit by the fire inside or out, this space is made for making memories and taking time for the more important things in life! Instantly fall in love with the magazine worthy design of the inviting space! Get in the Hot tub and lay in one of two loungers while watching a clear view of the amazing stars. While this is a destination of its own, Yosemite is a 30 minute drive to the main gate. Or you can drive 5 minutes to Pine Mountain Lake and enjoy a day at the beach!We only use natural cleaners and sanitizers in our Cabin. No harmful chemical residues left behind. We use food grade hydrogen peroxide as a sanitizer in the hot tub along with baking soda and vinegar for balancing PH. Essential oils are also left here for an aromatherapy hot tub experience! The hot tub is heated on demand and returns to cool temperatures when turned off. In the hot summer months it can be used as a cool dip if desired. It takes about 25 minutes to heat for a traditional hot tub experience. Our cabin is located in a community called Pine Mountain Lake. We are located outside the security gates which enables you to avoid the additional charge to get in. Also you will bypass a long line on the weekends. There are 3 beaches at our lake and a snack shop, kids playground and watercraft rentals. Plenty to do! There is a $42.00 Pine Mountain Lake fee for guests to use the lake per week. There is also a golf course, tennis courts and equestrian center. Please see the Pine Mountain Lake website for details. Brandon and Sayona Hoffman are the owners of the cabin. We like to greet our guests and are available for any questions about the area or Yosemite.The u shaped design of the house gives the master bedroom and courtyard nice privacy. The living room opens to the courtyard which is great for socializing. Many windows provide the light happy feel. Rustic furniture gives the coziness. There is a queen sized bed in the master, a king in the 2nd bedroom and a queen in bedroom 1. Guests have access to the entire house and yard except the garage which is locked up. There is plenty of parking in the driveway. Please note the following:1) If there are more than 4 guests, there is an additional $15 per guest per night fee. Children are guests too:)2) Due to severe allergies, no animals are allowed on the property. 3) We do have security cameras. For the privacy of our guests, however, there are no security cameras in the patio area. 4) Our place is equipped with a 50 amp plug for EV charging. Due to the cost of electricity in our area, there is an additional $15/ night PER ELECTRIC VEHICLE fee to use the charge plug. PG&E currently charges $.43-.45/ kWh for our area. The Tesla Supercharger is currently at those rates as well. In all the closets you will find extra floor fans. Our cabin, much like other cabins of the 1950s era, does not have central air conditioning and it does get hot. During the summer months, place the fans on the window ledges right when the sun starts to go down and the room will be nice and cool! this is the coolest room in the house! Both in temperature and in vibes!Upstairs you will find the "Cubs Den" furnished with 2 full beds and a 60" TV with ROKU! Turn on the twinkle lights and this makes the perfect theater room for the little ones!Across the hall is another bedroom with a queen bed, rocking chair and pack-n- play in the closet! This room also has a portable AC unit. Please attach the vent to the screen and plug it in, prior to turning on the power button. Turn it on upon arrival and the upstairs will stay a lot cooler.On the deck there is a large patio table and swing chair with umbrella for shade! A charcoal BBQ and cantina lights make this the perfect place for relaxing after a long day at the lake!My Coz Getaway Cottage is located just a quick (hilly) 1/4 mile walk to restaurants, mini-golf, community pool, Eproson park (Music in Park) and all that downtown Twain Harte has to offer. If you seek a little more adventure, Pinecrest lake & Dodge Ridge Ski Resort are a 25 minute drive. Black Oak Casino, Sonora and Columbia are also just a short drive away. Katmandu is an Original 1930 Twain Harte cabin which has been lovingly restored in cabin decor with modern upgrades. Knotty Pine interior with soaring ceilings, 4 bedrooms, one with a new king size bed, one with queen size bed, (both of these are bedrooms are downstairs) the other 2 have full size beds and are upstairs, all have new comfy mattresses. (The two bedrooms upstairs have steep stairs going to them as shown in the photo's) 2 bathrooms, 1 w/ tub and shower, the other has a walk-in shower, both are recently remodeled. A rock fireplace with a wood burning stove, ceiling fan, cable T.V., wireless high speed internet, cd player, forced air heater, air conditioner for the warmer summer months. Kitchen has a newer gas range, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker. Fully equipped kitchen with every accessory you will need. Front load Washer & Dryer. Large wrap around deck with gas BBQ, table and chairs. Enjoy beautiful, private, Twain Harte Lake. Lake opens Memorial Week-end and closes after Labor Day. Nice beach, snack shack, playground, life-guard.
