I had booked a VIP room, but on arrival, what I'd been given, although big, was a wheelchair accessible room. It was also right next to the lifts. There was no room in the bathroom to put any toiletries - given that it had to accommodate a wheelchair, it was all floor space with a tiny sink.
I requested a move and this was done easily and quickly. However, the new room was also right next to the lifts.
The bed was just ok and no more. I've slept in better in a Premier Inn and would probably expect the same level, or better, in a Maldron.
The breakfast was shambolic. There was only half the cooked food out (no eggs, sausages, potato farls, pudding). Lots of waiting around and lots of complaints. Probably wouldn't return given there are several comparable hotels in the city centre to choose from.
The one positive was the check in experience which was done easily on a screen in reception. Overall, pretty poor for what seems like a nice hotel.
