Love the hotel. Close to amenities and the staff were lovely and friendly. The Lola restaurant serves excellent food. Will definitely stay in the hotel the next time I come to Ballarat.

Hotel was ok, but didn’t meet our expectations. The type of place that looks fine in photos, but misses the details of any good or reasonable hotel (even at lessor price points). Bathrooms weren’t super clean, lots of mould and paint chips and scuff marks throughout the room. You come to expect this in some hotels, but the rooms where surprisingly sp**** which didn’t help you not notice these issues. Paying for larger room also seemed redundant in our case as the extra space served no extra purpose or facility. The room was a bed, chair, tv and minibar.. pretty standard and hardly a suite by any other hotels standards. The noise was also very noticeable. Earplugs are given, which don’t really solve it or are that comfortable to need to sleep with these. It’s not just the train you hear but conversations from neighbouring rooms and hallways. I live next to a main road so it’s not like we are overly sensitive to noise ourselves, however it still detracted from our stay/sleep. We had breakfast at Lola, food was ok (limited range and hard to go too wrong with) but the service had lots of issues for us. This hotel has many fantastic neighbouring eateries you can head to instead and we are already raving about all the food/service we had in Ballarat apart from this one. If this is on the cheaper side of accomodations when booking I think it be ok stay, for us it was at a premium above all others and thus in hindsight a poor value stay.

Lovely hotel, and my preference for work trips in Ballarat. Firstly, the first room I went to check into wasn’t cleaned from the previous guest. The check-in staff seemed embarrassed when I came back to reception, and organised another room for me which was a relief. When I went to my new room, little things like the mini bar had been missed - the milk was opened from previous guest. Bathroom also appeared very dirty, but I did go back and speak to the manager about this and they said it was clean - just a bad use of tile, so it “looks dirty”. Bed was very comfortable, room service amazing and breakfast in the cafe was as amazing as always. Generally a great stay, just a bumpy start!

What a beautifully renovated property. I have stayed here before in a suite and was again very pleased with the lovely staff and ambience. This time I stayed in what must be the smallest room at the hotel-room 18. The booking clearly states that it is a compact room and this is correct indeed. It felt quite claustrophobic with the toilet door missing the actual toilet by millimeters when opened and very little room for movement when inside the room. I really it think would be better removed from the available accommodation options which are otherwise of such a high standard of comfort and amenity.

Well, well, well. If it isn't Hotel Provincial, the place that managed to disappoint me in just one night. Let me make this clear - the manager was condescending, the bathroom was at a poor standard, and the shower had black mould and scum marks. The toilet amenities were dirty and the mirrors were not properly cleaned. To top it off, I found a long blond hair left dangling off the shower head. These are not minor issues, but rather major failures in basic hygiene and cleanliness standards. It's frustrating to think that I paid close to $650 for this substandard experience. I expected a decent, clean hotel and I did not get that. It's unacceptable for a hotel to have such low quality and standards, especially at that price point. I'm extremely disappointed with my first-time experience at Hotel Provincial. It's clear that they lack the commi**ent to providing a clean and welcoming environment for their guests. It's a shame that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Hotel Provincial to anyone. It's a disgraceful establishment that needs to invest in some serious improvements in order to even be considered a reputable hotel.

Really lovely boutique hotel with antique and vintage touches that lends a sense of authenticity to the property. Very clean room and very helpful and friendly staff.
