Overall: Great experience, would recommend this resort. Absolutely loved my experience in the Bayu villa at Akohara. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful and comfortable stay in Bali. There is so much space and privacy. The location is quiet and the view is wonderful. Staff are exceptionally friendly, caring and accomodating. We had all our meals included - all great quality. Delicious and very enjoyable. Cocktails and coffee were strong. No complaints at all about taste, availability and dining experience. Considerations: The resort is on 7 levels with 2 x inclinators to help move between them. The Bayu villas are on level 3 which means only one level to the restaurant (level 2) --＞ relatively quick and easy. Also manageable by the stairs if desired. Above the canopy views would only be from approx level 4 and higher. The in jungle views are also stunning but completely different vibe. Also we possibly noticed more bugs lower down (at the spa and gym) vs at our room. Keep this in mind when choosing villas. The descriptions talk about 'air and light' i.e. over valley vs below canopy views. Feedback I gave the team: Sanitation/Food and water management Despite our cautiousness we started to get diarrhoea from approx. day 2 of our stay - common in Bali I know. The resort clearly had great precautions in place (teeth brushing water available, staff wearing gloves around meal prep, bottled water available) but despite never leaving the resort we still got sick. Ideally these precautions would be able to avoid illness altogether and perhaps in time they will achieve this. Private pool The temperature of the heated community pool (level 2) was amazing and very comfortable. To have that in the private pool would have made the ultimate stay as I unfortunately found the private pool beautiful but unusably cold. The infinity pool does provide beautiful atmosphere, views and photos despite it's temperature though. Summary - Comfortable and luxurious stay with great staff. Likely one of the best resorts in Bali. - Bali is still Bali - can't escape some of the downsides it seems. - If you're willing to go to Bali then stay here. You will love it :)

Absolutely loved our stay at Akohara. The level of detail that has gone into the property is amazing, and the staff are so welcoming. The ability to have your own private villa but with all of the amenities of a hotel was a highlight. Nestled in a valley with only one other hotel visible, it really did feel like we were a million miles away from he hustle and bustle. Even though the travel time from the airport is approximately 2 hours, we would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing escape. The spa was also phenomenal.

What an incredible experience it was to stay at Akohara! The team there go over and above to make sure your stay is incredible and the views and facilities are spectacular. I loved the WhatsApp chat, as this made room service and requests so easy when sitting in the pool and not having the landline on hand. I cannot wait to come back, and intend on doing every single spa treatment available!! Thanks again for an incredible experience and making my sister and I feel so cared for.

Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The staff were professional and welcoming, and the property offered a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Everything was well maintained, and we enjoyed the facilities. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Ubud Central without traffic, but since the roads can get busy, we chose to stay and make the most of the resort. Surrounded by nature, you’ll see geckos, insects, and frogs, so those uncomfortable with wildlife should be aware. However, we were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t get any mosquito bites. Overall, a lovely experience for those seeking a tranquil getaway.
