The staff is very attentive and the rooms are large and clean. It is very close to the beach. The restaurant food is very good. We had the same waiter each day. His name was Gabino and he was fantastic. He was polite and efficient. The rooftop pool and bar are great for relaxing and to watch the sunset. I would absolutely recommend Casa Astral!
Our second year staying here and this year we brought friends. Nice modern property with good location and staff but the bonus this year was Marsh who ran the restaurant and beach! Last year we mostly just had the breakfast on property and made other hotels and beach clubs our daily drinking and lunch hangout. Not this year thanks to the incredible service from Marsh and her staff. This was our cocktails beach lunch and snacks HQ this year!! Thanks Marsh.
El hotel es sumamente agradable, se descansa como rey, es una ubicación muy céntrica, el ambiente es familiar. La atención personalizada de Diego es excelente sumamente atento, servicial y eficiente. La relación calidad precio es buena.
We were four people in a nice room that was very spacious and cleaned! The staff was friendly and kind, the common areas were cool and cosy. Considering the position, the peak season and the location, it offered the maximum quality-price ratio.
Ccoops92We stayed at Para Ti for a week and overall really enjoyed our stay. A lovely Oasis on the island. - the staff are all very friendly and helpful and were always on hand for our questions and helped us with our transfer to Cancun airport - breakfast was nice, the best coffee we had on our trip to Mexico! Fruit and pancakes every morning. we didn't eat at the hotel during the day at all but the food looked great. - the room was spacious and clean with comfy beds. nice to have a little balcony looking over the pool as well. the shell shower was very interesting but was powerful! - the location is great, very close to the town and the beach but far enough away to be nice and quiet in the evening - the pool area was nice when it wasn't too busy! plenty of space on the 2 rooftops to chill out as well - there is quite a lot of construction going on around the hotel, but this is happening all over the island. it really didn't bother us too much and it didn't go on through the night. we did get woken up a couple of times around 7am to some loud construction noise which was unfortunate. - while the shell shower was good, the doors to the walk in shower were not sufficient to keep the water out. The shower is really powerful and was constantly flooding the bathroom which made it a little dangerous. - we really liked the pool area, very jungle-esque. However it is quite small and there is not much space, the sunbeds are kind of squeezed wherever they can go. if the area was busy it really felt like you were on top of each other and quite uncomfortable. There are 2 pools and the rooftops though so quite a minor complaint. - we experienced several powercuts during our stay. of course this is not the fault of the hotel and i believe is common for Holbox, but sometimes they lasted quite a long time and without air con during the night could become unbearable. - we were lucky to have a room in the newer part of the hotel on the first floor which was quite private. Some rooms we saw had little to no privacy on the ground floor, with people always walking past. There is an older part of the hotel as well which looks out over the road which we really wouldn't have liked. Pay a bit extra for a better room if you can! - There was no storage areas or shelves to put our stuff which wasn't ideal when staying there for a week. The above were honestly minor inconveniences to us and we really enjoyed our stay!
Heel goed hotel! Dikke aanrader!
CCharlotte TMy family and I I spent 4 days and 5 nights at Deluxe apartment. We absolutely loved the place: apartment close to swimming pool and eating/breakfast area and also the beach! We had to walk 2 minutes to enjoy the beach and all the restaurants for eating outside and enjoy a cocktail while enjoying the sunset. Breakfast was perfect: good coffee, delicious fruits and toasts, cereals, yogurt, fresh juice and very nice cook. The staff, Frida, Ramon and Juan were also very welcoming and helpful. We were sad to leave and we will keep a very fond memory of our stay there. Thank you!
I lucked out when I chose Xaloc , one of several beach front hotels on the gorgeous island of Holbox, Mexico. I was traveling alone and only had 5 nights (4 days given a full day on either end to get there and return home ) to unwind, explore and get a feel for this remote island off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula . Even before I left , I knew from my email correspondence with Eva, the Manager, that I would be safe and comfortable under her accommodating kind watch. Little did I know, till I got there, that I had also picked the perfect location. I was close enough to the busier, commercial town square to walk there on the sand path at the edge of the property in as little as 10 minutes but also far enough away to have the quietest beachfront practically to myself, sandwiched gently in between two of the livelier stretches of white sand. Eva and Adam at the front desk and Andreas in the dining room were all so nice and helpful and my very own little pallapa cabin facing the sea and complete with a kingsize bed of cotton, crisp sheets and white gauzy mosquito net, AC , large bathroom area and shower and porch with a couch and hammock was heavenly . It didnt take me more than a half day to recover from my long trip and get into the Holbox spirit. Barefoot all day, in and out of the turquoise clear sea , fresh ceviche for lunch , ripe, sweet mango on a stick at the beach, whole fried fish for dinner, guacamole while watching the glorious sunset , a day trip to paradise island and the point with a closing dip in a mineral rich deep blue cenote ... heavenly for sure and an accommodation I hope to return to annually . Muchas Gracias EVA! Julia
Let me begin by stated “ I’m not a review sort of gal”, and I read some of the negative reviews thinking these folks have not stayed in an eco-resort before but now I apologize, because you were correct. I was so excited to visit Holbox and Zomay, however I did not choose wisely. The hotel is more of a hostel not a resort. Pros: *The property is beautiful and folks mill about most of the day tending to it. *The beach is beautiful and the sunset is the chefs kiss. Negative: For the elevated price, I expected more. *Rooms are basic at best. *No drinkable water except for 2 12oz bottles we were given at check in and told to refill ourselves at the front desk. *No drinking glasses to brush your teeth or have a beverage. We were told to ask the bar and did daily for clean ones returning the dirty ones. *Mini fridge was rickety, rusted and unsteady *Sheets are paper thin without a light comforter. We asked the front desk for a light blanket. *No iron in the room. *No hairdryer in the room. *Towels are threadbare with holes and not replaced until I asked. *Bath mat towel was threadbare, with holes and the edges frayed. *No hand towels *No tissues *Free breakfast was very small portions and nothing to get excited about. We went elsewhere. *Drinks were $10 per drink and weak. *Bar music plays LOUDLY until after midnight. *Friday night loud music until 3 *Saturday night LOUD music and yelling until far after 4am All in all, I should have valued the other reviews more. On our last few nights a group of young adults checkin in drinking and singing until 3am only to be up again at 6:30am laughing, speaking loudly without a care in the world. I spoke to several of the managers who shook their head and apologized, however nothing was done and we felt like ******. Clearly, they are trying to build a younger guest party experience, which was the last thing we wanted and if forewarned, would have gladly made other arrangements. There are hundreds of stray dogs and a rescue across the street so you hear barking most of the day. We enjoyed our stay on the island, however left early and should have chosen accommodations more wisely.
