If you are considering staying here for a weekend, or spending the biggest day of your life here, please just do it. You would be so lucky to experience it. We had our wedding at Vanderbilt Lakeside on 10/21/23 and let me just say: not only is it aesthetically a beautiful and unique venue, but Henrietta and Matt are quite literally the dream team when it comes to putting on an amazing event. Henrietta was always so responsive over our 17 months of planning, and was always eager to be helpful, even when I asked for ridiculous measurements and requests. She is so kind, so organized, so attentive. Matt made what our guests say is the best wedding food they’ve ever had––and daresay the best meal they’ve had in a while. Everyone also loved the signature drinks. I’m biased, but I think it was the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen. People kept complimenting me on what a great job I did, but the house is just so gorgeous on its own that I really can’t take credit for anything. The foliage was in full bloom around the lake too, and even though it rained, we had ordered a tent for the expansive deck and it was just a beautiful view. My family and bridal party stayed there for the weekend as well, and the rooms were comfortable with private bathrooms. Henrietta and Matt have exquisite taste when it comes to décor and food; and their team’s attention to detail and hospitality was so deeply appreciated on such an important weekend for us. When our tent was installed, they didn’t install the side panels, so Henrietta and Matt were out on the deck installing them for us in the pouring rain. I was unfortunately pretty ill on our big day, and wasn’t able to eat any of the delicious food. The kitchen staff kindly sent me home with leftovers and the bartender kept what we called the “Julia special” just for me: Pedialyte on the rocks. Henrietta made sure our table had crackers for me and I could actually cry right now thinking about how much everyone went out of their way to make sure I was ok. Thank you so much to Henrietta, Matt, and their amazing staff.

Henrietta and Matt are amazing! They have created a beautiful and eclectic place for a large group to stay comfortably and visitors should definitely take advantage of their culinary skills by hiring them to cook a gourmet meal. The leftovers kept everyone happy the next day and we all went around taking pictures of the decor to inspire our own home decorating! The setting is private and nestled next to a pretty pond where the pup I was allowed to bring loved romping. Three stars for location only if you’re looking for a more bustling town but the general area makes for a very pretty drive. Highly recommend!

My wife and I got married here on NYE 12/31/2023 and stayed on site with our family and friends for the weekend. We had an amazing experience during our stay and an even better experience with the Wedding! It is such a unique space with even better service. Henrietta has an amazing eye for decoration and is extremely organized and easy to work with. The food is incredible...actually incredible...and they were flexible with our guests accommodations. We would recommend this space to anyone looking for a truly unique and wonderful event experience. Thanks again Henrietta & Matt!!

My husband and I booked Vanderbilt Lakeside for our wedding this May (approximately 25 people.) From start to finish, the entire process was flawless. Henrietta goes above and beyond to provide all the needed details to make any event a success. Her communication and responsiveness were more than we could have asked for. From vendor recommendations, incredible food and drinks (made on-site), and the niche yet gorgeous decor, we couldn't have found a place better to host our family and friends. We barely needed any decorations as the place is downright beautiful all on its own. We were also able to have most of our attendees stay on site, which really cultivated an a**osphere that truly felt like a fairytale. As my husband puts it, Vanderbilt Lakeside will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you so much Henrietta and Matt!

We had the BEST weekend at Vanderbilt Lakeside celebrating our friends bachelorette. The house is incredible, the rooms are clean and lovely (great beds), and the outdoor space is incredible. We arranged a chef's dinner for our last night and were blown away by the drinks and the food. Henrietta was so lovely and helpful with planning along the way. Can't wait to go back!

First off, this is such a lovely, charming space. Lots of fun decor, fun spaces for hanging out, and AMAZING bedding! I made a comment to the owner about the sheets, she told me where she had purchased them, and now I bought some for myself! The space is open and my friends and I were able to have a dance party AND lay around all at the same time. I highly recommend staying here if you have a group of people that love being together and appreciate a well thought out space. I can also say that we had a dinner catered by the owners and it was gorgeous. Everything was made by hand, we had some featured cocktails, it was absolutely perfect.

We booked the Vanderbilt Lakeside for our Rehearsal Dinner (our wedding took place in in August 2022) and as lodging for some of our family. We initially booked the lodging a year out from the wedding, and then decided about two months before the wedding to add a rehearsal Dinner there. The site is beautiful and idyllic while still being in the town in Philmont, making it convenient for our guests. The Vanderbilt team was communicative and accommodating of our requests for both the event and the lodging. We requested that the pool table be available and they made it happen, even with a seated dinner for 75 guests. The rooms are spacious and well kept and our family was extremely comfortable during their stay. The dinner was incredible, with thoughtful planning and absolutely delicious food. The guests were raving about it for days! The service was also impeccable. I would highly recommend the Vanderbilt Lakeside for any event: wedding, Rehearsal Dinner, family reunion, whatever life event you are celebrating. Hopefully we will have another opportunity to celebrate with the Vanderbilt Lakeside again!

My husband and I recently got married in Ghent and we held our other wedding weekend events (rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, and Sunday brunch) at the Vanderbilt Lakeside; we also stayed at the inn with our bridal party and significant others. It was a magical weekend in every way. The decor is gorgeous, just the right mix of trendy, eclectic, and artistic to have gorgeous, Instagram/magazine-worthy views every way you turn. The guest rooms are extremely clean and with thoughtful amenities, and are light-filled during the day with incredibly comfortable beds and quiet at night. What made our weekend so special was the incredible power couple in Henrietta and Matt planning each event with us. The rehearsal dinner was absolutely magical - drinks by the gorgeous downstairs bar and chic patio followed by a long farm table with bud vases and perfect upstate summer evening vibes, incredible food from Matt who is a true culinary talent, a gorgeous signature cocktail and every detail coordinated seamlessly by Henrietta. As rehearsal dinner transitioned into welcome drinks, the patio and lawn lit up by bistro lights and a bonfire with a full moon lighting up the lake, guests came up to us and exclaimed about how the evening had the perfect feel of a casual garden party but with everything executed flawlessly and professionally. We are so incredibly lucky to have come across this absolute gem of a venue for our wedding weekend and can't recommend it highly enough for any event. We'll be basking in the glow of this wonderful inn and team for years to come.

Where do I begin?! This is the most beautiful, well-designed, thoughtfully decorated, amazing venue. From the bar room to the guest rooms to the game room to the serene backyard and deck, everything is so aesthetically pleasing. The backyard has a gorgeous view of a lake that made for awesome photos. I held my tea ceremony, actual ceremony, cocktail hour, game hour and reception (on the deck) and it all went off without a hitch. They even had board games, indoor and outdoor games for use - shuffle board was a guest favorite! The outdoor area even had a cute little outdoor bar so guests could enjoy outdoor games and pics while drinking and eating. Add on to that: the drinks and food were INCREDIBLE. All my guests were raving about the food and even my vendors said that most wedding food isn't great but Vanderbilt's is SO good. The menu is intricate and is some of the best traditional American rustic food I've had. You can taste the quality and thought out into each dish. And last but certainly not least: Henrietta is probably one of the most organized, helpful and supportive people I've met on my wedding journey. She is so quick to answer questions, make changes to plans and offer her expertise in planning and design. She is truly the shining gem of Vanderbilt and there's no way I could've pulled off my wedding without her. Together, her and her husband Matt are a rockstar couple that has built a truly spectacular wedding venue. If you're looking for rustic, natural, vintage styles with lots of personality and room to create your vision, Vanderbilt is THE option.
