The Cottages 飯店(The Cottages Hotel)

This hotel is a gem. It is small, the rooms are well decorated, comfortable beds, spacious and pristinely clean, they even have a little patio. Love their breakfast buffet, it has many options for everyone and the staff is very friendly and ready to help. It is about 20 in from the SFO airport, can't wait to go back.

I had a one night trip to Menlo Park, which I had to cancel when my flight was severely delayed and then cancelled due to weather (causing me to miss my meeting). When I returned home from the airport, I called the hotel to let them know I wouldn't be able to make it that night. I had a non-refundable reservation, so didn't expect to get my money back, but thought I might get a discount or credit for a future stay (I travel there regularly). The person at the desk was not very friendly and simply told me I had a non-refundable reservation. I told them that they could go ahead and rent the room as I wouldn't be using it (and they were sold out), but would appreciate a credit if they did so. The person I talked to said he wasn't authorized to make that decision, which I understood, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager wasn't there at the time, so I asked the person to have the manager call me back, which he said they would. I never heard a thing...

A Lovely place just inside the Atherton border, walkable to all that Menlo Park offers. Staff is lovely and breakfast buffet is almost perfect. The only caveat is that they put air fresheners in the rooms and the lobby so if you are allergic beware. They removed them promptly and changed our sheets and pillowcases but we arrived late and tired and did not figure out where the smell ( pine) was coming from until the morning, by that time I had a headache. Otherwise totally excellent and I would return.

WOW. Abysmal customer service. I called en route to The Cottages at Menlo Park because I noticed I had inadvertently booked for Saturday night instead of Friday. It was 5:30 on a Friday, I was on the freeway with my two small children in tow, and I had no place to stay. They said, sorry, they were booked, so I had to look elsewhere. I kindly asked them to cancel my booking for the following night. They said they could not cancel it! THEN THEY CHARGED ME FOR SATURDAY. I requested a cancelation through the hotel directly and through *******. The ******* agents were so kind and offered to help me. They emailed and called the property manager requesting they not charge my card since I would not be staying there. The manager, Nraj R, refused to assist them or me and insisted on charging me the FULL price of the room even though I never darkened the door of the hotel. This was a truly awful experience. DO NOT book here if there is any chance whatsoever you need to cancel, might get sick, your plans might change, etc. Also, please do note that this was NOT a prepaid stay. I booked a Pay At Property price. I did not show up to the property and was charged full price as if I had. This was nothing short of theft. They rendered no service and charged me anyway. No self-respecting company treats customers in that manner.

This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I travel for a living. The rooms are very nice ceiling fan, great bathroom and great amenities. Only possible complaint would be the room didn’t have many outlets to charge things. That’s all. 10/10

This property is simply beautiful! It’s obvious that there is great attention to detail among staff members. We especially liked how quiet it was, the updated decor, and how comfortable the beds were. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Hidden Gem , close to Stanford . Friendly staff . Beautiful clean room . Cozy bed and rain shower. Very happy with our accommodation. Thank you

Probably the cleanest property we have stayed at. The staff was excellent and extremely helpful. Already have booked additional stays for next year.

Espresso coffee available 24/7. Beds comfortable. Room brand new. Free easy parking. Absolutely does it for me.
