聖塔克魯茲-斯科茨谷希爾頓飯店(Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley)

My first room had a large patch of fuzzy mold on the ceiling, the gal at the front desk (was older and looked like probably a manager) was not apologetic or understanding and made it seem like I was being unreasonable to request a new room or the mold be cleaned. You have to call and request for your room to be cleaned, they don’t always actual follow through and clean after requested. Getting fresh towels was a hurdle every single time and the pool was rarely stocked with pool towels. It’s an older hotel and parts definitely have an old funky smell to them. Parking relatively near my room was rarely available. The other front desk people and the grounds guy were super nice. For the price of the rooms I was very underwhelmed by the whole experience. I usually stay at the 4 points but tried the Hilton because they have the pool, I’ll be going back to the 4 points instead.

Recent stay at this Hilton was pretty disappointing. I can look past the worn carpet and tired interiors, but when the housekeeping is on a request only basis and I requested everyday during my stay (with front desk and housekeeping) with no luck, I'd say the staff doesn't really care about the guests. Upon check out, I was not asked how my stay was, furthering my theory that they just don't care. Loved the location - it was super easy to get down to Santa Cruz and surrounding areas.

The hotel layout is confusing. The room did not have a shower curtain in it when we checked in. We had an appoin**ent for dinner that evening and it took 2 hours for housekeeping to arrive. Staff member told us about they were on a break? This delay caused us to be late because we needed to shower beforehand. The couch was dirty and stained. Hotel scrap paper left for guest notetaking located in the lobby next to the guest's courtesy computer, had comments about various room maintenance written on the reverse side. Quote " Room ..has a problem with bed bugs" Clearly a big turnoff when you see this. The spa was foaming and shows poor maintenance.and hygiene we were unable to use it. Children using the spa/ hottup were left unattended. The refrigerator was warm and the temperature was set incorrectly Overall it was poor..im beginning to wonder if the hotel in relying on its name rather than delivering on its guests. The Thermostat didn't work in our Room for Heating so the room was quite cold. We turned off the HVAC to warm the room as much as possible. The spigot in the Bathtub and the Shower Head were both loose (detached behind the tile). The Eco friendly policy is good except for the Bath Towels, wet towels on day two of our visit.

The location was nice. Unfortunately the room service staff is way over staffed. Despite having a couple of room, both for six nights, and asking for room service on night 3, we didn't get room service until night 5 for one, and never received a response for our second room. The manager mentioned this was a regional problem, with not having enough hospitality employees in Santa Cruz. He was nice enough to credit two nights for this inconvenience. In addition to having AC issues, a stuffy room for three of our six nights there. Nice area, away from the downtown SC area, but not sure I will choose to stay there again.

This is what I got for my 3 day/$1,000 stay at this hotel: Paid for a balcony with a view and the balcony faced the parking lot only. Room was very small and the door to the closet literally blocked the door to the bathroom, so both had to be closed at all times for access. There was old food in the fridge when we arrived and we actually had to take it down to guest services ourselves AND throw it away cause they were busy and didn't answer the guest services phone. The microwave was very dirty when we arrived. So, I made the assumption that the cleaning staff does the bare minimum by putting clean towels and making the bed for a guest check in. Thorough cleaning is not their forte at this hotel. The toilet was dirty and had 'brown liquid' on the base of the toilet bowl, proving my point that the cleaning staff does the bare minimum. The front desk NEVER answers the phone, and when they finally do, they are so unhelpful: -asked for housekeeping the 2nd day we were there and was told by guest services that they don't provide housekeeping more than once and only bring fresh towels. -asked for some forks to be brought up and no one ever showed up. -called numerous times to ask for assistance with the T.V. and no one ever answered and we got tired of going downstairs for every little thing we needed so we figured it out for ourselves. -they are seriously short staffed so forget about getting help with anything. -they charged us for one milk that we needed last minute, even thou

I didn't realize that Hilton doesn't have housekeeping services during your stay. Each day we had to call for toilet paper, towels, and coffee. Otherwise, the place was very nice and affordable. Great pool!

The room had a musty mildew smell. The window had been left open so it seemed obvious the hotel was aware of the smell and condition of the room. Beds were not very comfortable, room condition was overly worn (ie dirty chipped paint baseboards etc).
