I stayed at the Occidental hotel in Ankara for 3 nights in September 2024. The hotel is good. The double room that I was staying in was clean and comfortable. The bedsheets were refreshed every day. Though there was no regular prefilled minibar, nevertheless, the 24 hours room service with its variety of choices was excellent. The breakfast was decent, satisfying with variety of choices. The personnel were well mannered and professional and they could speak English well. The front desk team members whom I dealt with; Ms. Esra, Ms. Gulben and Mr. Kubilay, they were all efficient, welcoming with perfect communications skills and solving problem abilities, I sincerely thank all of them. I should also thank Mr. Can for his effective efforts all through. The locality of the hotel is wonderful. So many coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shopping outlets etc. are around the hotel. The area is so lively. I would definitely recommend the Occidental Ankara to stay and would be back there soon.
The hotel is old and starting to show its age, bed fine, internet is dreadful, having to keep logging on, very frustrating, TV keeps freezing can only assume it’s the same internet issues, price for B&B &190 so not cheap, asker about the lounge now I’m here and told its €40 per day, breakfast rate here is €25 per day, with the lounge access you can get breakfast, so asked if I could credit my breakfast and book the lounge to be told no, basically everything is set to extract money from you, good member for some time, also an IHG member with top status, would save you money and book the Crowne plaza for half the price, location is next to very old mall with a lot of cheap items. The escalators to take you down do not work, escalators up or working, think they are trying to save money. I’ve stayed at a number of hotels in Ankara and not the best, but guess it good for the American standard of hotel.
REVIEWING AFTER YEAR LONG STAY: living outside your house for working purposes, could become lonely and unsettling, but, in our case, after all these months, we felt blessed by calling Grand Mercure, “Our Home” when in Turkey. Below goes a complete and very well deserved review. Everything starts at the front door, where Mr. Gorkem, Mr. Mertcan and Mr. Oktay would welcome us guests with their friendly smile and politeness. Specially Mr. Gorken who always welcome us with a sincere “Welcome Back”. Continuing to our suite review, again, I would like to highlight Ms. Gul’s endless kindness and expertise with not only cleaning and maintaining the room impeccable and working flawlessly, but her personal little touches to make us feel cherished and loved. Also daily, we would like to point out Mr. Sinan, bringing to our door, not only water, but also easy and sincere smiles, excellent communication and friendly approach. The Breakfast is also amazing, with its continental buffet style loaded with fresh and delicious fruits and treats carefully prepared everyday. But again, even with all this, I would like to highlight mostly the bright smiles that welcome us every single morning. Starting with the outstanding supervision of the kind and cheerful Mr. Ibrahim greeting us by the door, to Ms. Gamze serving our dishes with a great care and making sure everything goes smooth also the two amazing expert chefs Ms. Dilara and Ms. Münüfe that deliver amazing Omelets and also “A La Carte” Poached eggs, Eggs Benedict and even fresh Sashimis to die for. The hardest part is to keep our diet under control here with all these delicacies. More than ever, despite how comfortable, beautiful and very well kept are all the installations of the hotel, including our suite, what sincerely, at least for us, makes the whole difference here is the kindness, the empathy and the care of their employees and we both have no words to express our gratitude. They really go beyond to make our staying memorable, comfortable and relaxing. And we are convinced that it must comes as a result of the amazing, friendly and deeply emphatic management of Mr. Murat and Mr. Onur.
I've stayed at this Marriott twice for business and it is the best hotel in Ankara. It's location is really nice across from teh UE Embassy and centrally located with easy access to most business and shopping. It has a complimentary garage below with easy in/out priviliges. The lobby area is massive, and very impressive. The staff are highly trained, courteous and helpful. The lobby bar serves any drink you can imagine and there is alsa a very nice steak restaurant at the entrance which also serves breakfast and lunch. The roof top bar is incredible with nice views of Ankara skyline and bands playing on the weekends (you will need reservations on the weekends). The rooms are well appointed with great views (see picture) and anything you need during your stay. The rooms are cleaned daily and come with both a soak in bathtub and a shower. The drink prices are comparable to what you would expect to spend in comparable hotels in Europe and the US. There is strict security at the entrance to the hotel which some might find it a bit too much, but I did not mind as it is safer than any hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff is really amazing fluent in English and Turkish (and maybe other languages). I really do not understand why this hotel can be less than 5 stars for its classification. It is the best Marriott I stayed in and I travel for work in the US and some in Europe.

The Warwick Hotel is a gem at which visitors to Ankara absolutely should stay! The location is perfect - a little bit off the main area, but within easy walking distance of the Tunali Hilmi area and the multitude of restaurants and shops there, as well as governmental embassies and consulates. This boutique hotel is beautiful and very well-maintained and clean. The rooms have very modern amenities, while being decorated in a pleasing style. The staff are friendly, responsive, and very accommodating. The included breakfast at their Maple Tree restaurant is generous in its variety of offerings, has hours that accommodate both early and late risers, and Ozgur, the manager, is the ultimate host. There is not a single negative aspect that I and my family have experienced at the Warwick Hotel. Highly recommend!
The staff are GREAT, everything else is terrible. This hotel is one of the worse hotels we have stayed in, in a very longtime. It is OLD and very TIERED. The rooms were clean but felt dirty because everything was so old, the bathroom was from the 1950's, just horrible. The A/C did not work in the whole building, only the heat, we had to sleep with open balcony doors. The elevators are also very old and tiered, this whole building needs a serious renovation, or better yet, complete demolition and rebuild. There was no interior parking either, so guest cars stay in the all star sky parking. A hotel NEVER to stay at ever again.
訪訪客We recently had a wonderful 14 night stay at the Apart Best Hotel in GOP. The hotel was located in a prime location, one block off a Main Street in GOP which had several shops, stores, restaurants and bars to choose from. Our room was a two bedroom apart suite (I can’t remember what it was actually called). You entered by one door, and from that door there was a little entry way with two more doors. One door led into the suite which was large and comfortable. The suite included a full living room with balcony overlooking the city (I would say the best view of Ankara from anywhere) kitchen with stove, oven sink and fridge, full bathroom with a washing machine (which for a two week stay totally came in handy). Lastly, of course the bedroom with a queen size bed and I. Room safe. The other door led to its own hotel room, with bed, tv and its own bathroom. I went with a friend and it was ideal as we each got to enjoy the common living area but each had our own bathroom. The room is dated, but is very comfortable, clean and feels like home. I only have one negative comment and that was the internet which was very poor and spotty. I got over it though as I was on holiday and shouldn’t have been on my phone or iPad anyway. As for the services of the hotel, the pool area was fantastic with patio doors out to a garden area where you could sit on a sunny Ankara day. There is a full service restaurant/bar which has a full array of items and is delicious and the price is right! Breakfast is served daily and I highly recommend the chefs homemade simit (they were incredible). The staff off the restaurant were unreal, super friendly and made you feel even more at home. In fact, the entire team made the stay and experience more than top notch and more than five star. They were accommodating, friendly, caring and ready to help you in a second. By the end of the two weeks they were like old friends who genuinely cares about how you were doing. As someone who travels regularly both for work and pleasure, they are the reason that the Apart Best Hotel in Ankara is the place to stay when you are away. I again want to thank the staff for an amazing stay and an amazing time. We will be back and if you ever need someone to recommend you or a star for your commercial, I’m your guy! Cok cok cok tessukuler ederim!
