I had a 2-night stay at Qupqugiaq, solo, in a single room with shared bathroom. The room was adorable - so cute. Not the cleanest room in the world but not the worst. There was dust under the bed - not a big deal - and the curtains/window shades need to be replaced. Also no screens on the windows and it was stuffy.. I opened them, but was concerned about bugs.
Bed was nice - sheets/bedding was clean. Love the artwork throughout, including the piece on the walls in the room. So nice! As was the desk with local info. Nice chair to sit in....
The TV is gigantic and really overwhelms the room.
The 24/7 coffee was nice, and really good. I also like that there is shared/available kitchen, though the refrigerator is so full I don't know where I could have put anything!
Hand sanitizer by the kitchen and in the bathrooms would have been a plus. And adding some hooks on the walls - both the room I stayed in (nowhere to put one's clothes, towels, jacket, etc) as well as in the bathroom would be great.
Regarding bathrooms: One was far nicer than the other on my floor. Never found the 3rd. One had no hot water, the other had hot water but no hooks/place to put anything and was gross. The heat ***** is literally falling apart, there is deep mold in corners, and on Friday evening of my stay it looked like a middle school make up blow up had taken place - with pink EVERYWHERE, overflowing trashcan, and dirty towel.
Employees were really nice. Cared. Genuine. Helpful.
