榛木堤岸鄉間別墅

Conoscevamo Hazelbank per esserci stati un paio di giorni nel 2019 ed abbiamo voluto ritornare quest'anno per 7 giorni per godere appieno della bellezza del posto e di tutti i piacevoli particolari che il soggiorno offre. La casa è stupenda, una villa ottocentesca circondata da un grande e ben curato parco, con 7 camere arredate con mobili d'epoca. Dalla nostra camera a piano terra abbiamo goduto della vista del parco, il letto era ampio e confortevole, il bagno è dotato di una comoda ed efficientissima doccia, un ampio lavabo con miscelatore (non facile da trovare in Inghilterra) e di prodotti da bagno di qualità. Nei momenti di relax è possibile prendere un tè in giardino o nel salotto, dove prima di cena viene servito agli ospiti l'aperitivo. Abbiamo gradito molto le cene preparate dalla padrona di casa, la Signora Donna, gustose e ben presentate, accompagnate dai vini consigliati dal marito, il Signor Gary, sempre gentile, cordiale e pronto alla battuta. Un'attrazione particolare è poter vedere durante la colazione o la cena, attraverso le vetrate della sala da pranzo, uccellini o scoiattoli che, a pochi metri da noi, si avvicinano alle mangiatoie predisposte da Gary. Abbiamo apprezzato anche la gentilezza del personale e di tutti gli altri ospiti, che hanno cercato di farci sentire a nostro agio nonostante la difficoltà di comunicazione a causa della lingua. Tutta la regione e la vallata di Borrowdale in particolare sono stupende ed offrono innumerevoli possibilità di gite in auto, crociere in battello sui laghi e passeggiate a piedi.

We have recently had a 3 night break at Hazelbank Hotel . The hotel is a beautiful country house set in one of the quieter Lake District valleys. You can choice to walk from the door or use one of the local buses which stop at the bottom of their drive to explore the area. We had a lovely comfortable bedroom with a modern and very clean bathroom with plenty of hot water. Our hosts Gary and Donna have created a lovely sanctuary for their guests away from their normal lives. We had dinner each night of our stay and the food each evening was delicious and imaginative. There is a set menu each day but if you let your hosts know in advance I am sure they will offer an alternative. We had a delicious meal on our last night with friends and could not fault either the food, the wine or the ambience. It certainly made my husband’s birthday trip a memorable one. Thanks to Gary, Donna ( sorry we did not see you but we tasted all your lovely cooking) , Emma and also Adam too. We certainly would relish another stay in the future. I

We have been coming to Hazelbank every year, sometimes twice, since 2014 and the standard of service is as high if not higher each year we visit. Our visit coincided with a cool and wet start to June but the hotel was as warm and comfortable as usual. The set menu inspires your taste sensations through each course. The room, Castle Crag, was warm, light and comfortable. The social atmosphere starts with canapés and continues with drinks in the lounge after dinner. It has been described as a Donna and Garys " friends and family dinner party". That is the best description of the Hazelbank experience.
