Still the best Sunday lunch pub that I know of. Good service and the lunches themselves are generous and delicious. Roast beef was several slices of good quality meat accompanied by swede, cauli cheese, broccoli, maple carrots and roasties and slathered in gravy. (And horseradish slaw, which was nice, but can we not have old school horseradish sauce?). Too full ater all that for dessert, but top marks to the pub for being able to produce a decent cup of tea afterwards, using a small pot so that you don't end up with a weak brew unlike most places.

Super burgers and fries! Yummy! A wide menu. Great service with a smile- thank you Daniel. A friendly atmosphere. Situated just outside the centre of town. Some parking behind pub. An array of board games available to play!!!!!!!!

We dined as a family of eight at the end of February 2022. I would have thought that booking is essential as we were politely advised that they would like the table back at three p.m. We had decided to pre-order our meals which meant that service was prompt, this was fortuitous as we had two infant children in our company who were very very hungry. We were looked after by the wonderful Flora, nothing, and I mean nothing, was too much trouble for her. The food was five stars all day long, generous slices of pork or beef, crunchy roast potatoes, roast carrots in maple syrup. The Yourshires were the size of Zeppelins. lashing of gravy and top quality service made this a wonderful experience. I forgot to mention the real ale selection and fantastic wines.

Travelled up from Devon to surprise a family member (40th birthday). This accommodation is perfect if your looking for some where to stay on the high street.Rooms were very spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly. We would certainly book again.

Each time I visit this pub it does not disappoint. The staff are friendly and very welcoming, the food is brilliant, especially the pies. Worth booking in advance if going over a weekend. I would highly recommend this place for both food and drink.

We had a really good meal here one night and drinks here another night. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good choice of beer. I was able to have herbal tea and my husband his proper beer. It is obviously popular with the locals and has a good atmosphere. If I am back this way this is a pub I will return to.

Good location. staff very friendly and helpful. lovely comfy room Great option for self service tea/coffee. lovely option of fresh fruit and continental breakfast available .in self service area. busy pub offering food which we didn't try as alternative restaurant booked. live music great. considering the busyness of the pub room was fairly quiet. all rooms up narrow flight of stairs - so tricky if mobility problems

Stayed in Abingdon for a weekend, booked table at The Tap Friday evening. Very busy, however staff were really attentive, beers were superb, food was even better, We consequently booked again for Sunday, same quality. A truly excellent venue for food and drink cannot recommend enough. Pulled pork was amazing.
