We stayed here for a week in a studio which was clean and spacious. Bathroom was a little grubby with shower so high up I could nearly reach. Always hot water available. The pool area is what drew me to book. The views are magnificent, the pool is lovely, the sunbeds are the comfortable but again a little grubby. What let's the property down the most is the prices of drinks and food around the bar. 7 euros for a small beer, 3.50 for a can of pop. 5.00 for a coffee. Because youre so high up there is no other choice but to pay these prices. We spent a few nights in Argostoli which is beautiful, only 8 euros to get there. As opposed to the 8 euros to bring you from the bottom of the hill to the liberatos with takes around 30 seconds. Overall a lovely week, but wouldn't return

Liberatos Village Hotel has the potential to be brilliant but it falls way short. I’ll start with the good bits. The hotel’s perched at the top of a steep hill, so yes, it’s a bit of a slog to get to, but you’re rewarded with cracking panoramic views from the pool and some of the rooms. There’s a nice breeze up there too, which is a godsend in the July/August heat. The pool area is a real highlight, big, deep (2.2m), clean, with large, comfy loungers, but could do with a clean they are a bit grubby. The bar’s well stocked, food’s decent (though slightly more expensive than down in the resort, as you’d expect), and the staff are generally friendly and polite especially the bar staff and receptionists. The outdoor areas are lovely too, loads of greenery, flowers, fruit trees and the odd palm tree. But that’s where the positives end…. The inside of the self-catering rooms is where the whole thing unravels. We booked through TUI and were led to believe it was 3T (3-star) accommodation, inside the rooms it’s more like 1-star at best. The cooking facilities looked like they’d been dragged out of a skip, rusty and ours was held together with tape, with loose wires hanging out, this one was eventually replaced. The hob was filthy, the kitchen tap sprayed water halfway into the living space, and the bathroom tap wouldn’t turn off. The air con started leaking by day two. In our other room were met with blood stains and snot on the pillow on arrival, not exactly the welcome I expect from a TUI package holiday. We had two rooms, both had problems. After raising a complaint and being told no other rooms available, we were offered a “more basic” room (worrying) from the hotel owner or the chance to switch hotels at an extra £1500 for 4 days from TUI. Repairs were eventually done to the tap and replacement pillow but only done after we raised them with TUI customer services who got onto the owner. Even then, things like mould on the ceiling and a grim, stained shower curtain remained. What really soured it was the attitude of the so-called manager with an “American” accent, rude to my missus and dismissive, even accused us of exaggerating. If they ripped out the rooms and gave them a proper refurb, this place could be class. But as it stands, great on the outside but a proper horror show on the inside. Wouldn’t return or recommend anyone to stay here. I’ve told TUI to either reduce the rating to a 2T or remove the self catering option as it’s totally misleading showcasing this as a 3T. Lassi however we never had a bad meal out! Great little resort with some fantastic beaches.

Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend Unfortunately, our stay was not what we had hoped for. The room was very dated, with visible pipes sticking out of the floor and a bathroom that looked worn and stained. The kitchenette was poorly stocked – many of the utensils you’d expect were missing, and even the cups were chipped. The patio doors were another frustration; they were difficult to open and often got stuck, making it a hassle to get outside. Most disappointing was the sofa bed – it was so uncomfortable that my son ended up sleeping with me instead. The walk up and down the hill is tough in summer heat and taxis now charge €8. The positives… lovely hillside position with fruit trees all around and chickens roaming. Poolside also very nice. The sunset from the balcony was lovely to see every day. Overall, the property needs serious updates and maintenance. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others. The things important to me are the beds, which were uncomfortable, and the amenities, which were old, tired and not adequately stocked. For €1k for a week I don’t think I got my monies worth.

Stayed here for a week in July and absolutely loved it! Yes it’s up a hill but didn’t bother us especially with a taxi rank at the bottom to take you home at night if you can’t deal with the walk. Pool and bar area are amazing and the grounds are really well kept! The views make the walk up the hill worth it! Staff all pleasant and food and drink decent. Air con included as is room safe. Rooms are basic but we were never in it enough for it to bother us.would definitely visit again.

Booked a last minute mini break in May and it was fab. A spacious comfortable and clean apartment with great views. Clean pool with comfy beds. Lovely bar with kind staff. Great location, a bit of a hill but easy to walk up. Third visit to Kefalonia and this was the best accommodation by far - will return for sure
