Staying at this hotel gave me a terrible experience. I specifically requested in the reservation notes not to be placed in a corner room, but the room type I booked was entirely located in corners at this hotel. The hotel did not communicate with me before check-in and directly assigned me a corner room on the day of arrival. I truly don’t understand the point of providing special requests for stays.
Later, the hotel switched us to a non-corner room, for which we were very grateful at the time. However, on the second day of our stay, we discovered that the hotel had downgraded our room type without informing us! This was utterly infuriating! When we noticed and tried to resolve the issue with the hotel, they claimed we had agreed to the downgrade and refused to issue a refund. We never agreed to anything—the hotel didn’t even inform us but took the liberty of signing “consent” on our behalf!
During the coordination process, the hotel showed absolutely no intention of solving the problem and insisted that we bear the cost of their staff’s negligence. In the end, they simply sent an email telling us to take the matter up with Trip! Unbelievable! This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I’ve had during all my trips to Japan. The hotel showed no consideration for the customer’s perspective—they didn’t even give us the option to pay for an upgrade. Instead, they quietly downgraded our room, leaving us paying a high price for the cheapest room type. Had we not noticed, we would have remained completely in the dark!
In short, I will never choose this hotel again.
