Extremely Disappointed – Worst DoubleTree by Hilton Experience
I booked this hotel expecting a peaceful and comfortable stay after a long trip, especially as we were celebrating a special occasion — our anniversary. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the most disappointing Hilton experience I've ever had.
From the moment we checked in, it was clear that this property falls far below the standards expected of the Hilton brand. The front desk staff were cold and unwelcoming — no smile, no warmth, and not even the customary DoubleTree cookie that’s typically offered at check-in. That small gesture alone would’ve been appreciated, especially after a long journey.
The room itself was in unacceptable condition:
The lights weren’t working properly.
The bathroom water temperature kept switching between hot and cold.
The carpets and sofa were heavily stained, and the furnishings looked extremely worn and poorly maintained. It gave the room a dirty, rundown feel — absolutely not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel.
When I raised these concerns and requested a room change, I was told there were no other rooms available — with no apology or effort to offer a solution. The attitude was dismissive and indifferent.
To make things worse, the weather during our stay was cold, and even the hairdryer in the room was blowing only cold air. Because of this, I actually caught a cold — an incredibly frustrating and avoidable situation that only added to our discomfort.
Basic amenities like toothbrushes and slippers weren’t provided in-room, and I was told I had to go downstairs to collect them myself. Again, a small detail, but one that shows a complete lack of attention to guest service.
This entire experience has made me seriously question Hilton’s brand standards. I’ve stayed at many Hilton and DoubleTree properties before and have always trusted the name to deliver a comfortable, quality experience. This property failed at every level — from hospitality and cleanliness to guest comfort and service.
Hilton urgently needs to review and take accountability for the poor conditions and service standards at this location. I expected far better, and I left extremely disappointed.
