|距離市中心5.15kmWe have stayed at Casa Lima for years. The location is great since it is walking distance to our family's house. But this stay was not pleasant. We stayed in 2 room family suite, which we have stayed in this room type before (but received a different room). There were cobwebs everywhere throughout the 2 rooms. I am talking large, draping cobwebs in all the corners, it was dirty. These could have easily been removed with a broom. The room did not feel clean and our youngest was not comfortable. We had arrived late at night and had been communicating this to the hotel all along. It didn't seem like they were ready for us, the owner/manager was grumpy and seemed irritated when we asked for some water. The main 1st room had a double bed and a fold out couch. The bed was comfortable, the couch was not. There was a wardrobe to place your things. The fridge did not work. The adjacent room, had three twin beds, no windows. There was nowhere to put anything, no closet, no wardrobe, not even space for a suitcase. The adjoining door did not close unless you deadbolted it, not too comfy for a family with young kids. The bathoom door in the twin room didn't close at all, it would slide open, and most definitely didn't lock. The TV in that room didn't work either. We did report that the fridge didn't work, but they didn't do anything about it. The courtyard, as always, is amazing. It is like a jungle in the middle of the city with a ton of plants, trees, flowers and colorful rocks. There is a coi pond with a couple turtles and you can feed them if you ask for some food. There is also a large cage with a bunch of birds, which adds to the ambiance. The breakfast is simple, but good. The servers are awesome. I feel like the last 3 stays at this hotel have gone considerably downhill. i also feel like the price was a lot higher than we paid in the past. We will be looking for another go to hotel in the future.

The daily breakfast was sumptuous with local and western options. The evening happy hour was incredible and the best selection of drinks we’ve ever been to. Would also like to thank several staff who helped us during our stay - Anthony the bellhop, and Carlos + Marcela, severs at the hotel’s restaurant. One suggestion is for the reception counter staff to be more friendly and approachable. The perception we got was they were cold and rushed.

Typical city hotel, very comfy and large rooms with big bathrooms, plenty of toiletries etc. Lovely staff, although not very attentive in the main restaurant! We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant - all good. Also a great meal in the Japanese restaurant. It was quite cool, they keep the aircon on quite high and the weather was windy and cloudy so turned it off in our room! Nothing much nearby, very convenient for airport but only a supermarket and McDonalds within walking distance. The park was ok for a quick walk, only a few yards away.

|距離市中心1.15kmnot a bad location. a bit dated. 6th floor balcony rooms are quite nice, interior rooms not so much. beds were comfortable, shower had good water temp but water pressure was inconsistent. hotel was clean as was the room. staff were helpful. no bar or ******, both appear to have closed a few years back. music is played loudly in the lobby until about 1230-1am which reaches a lot of the hotel rooms. not enough electric plugs (or any usb plugs). needed to unplug room phone or clock to charge phone, ipad, etc. food was not bad and priced well. not a bad place to stay but there are probably better for the same price. If you like having a balcony that you can walk out on to and have fresh air in your room i would recommend. AC and fan worked well with out too much noise

|距離市中心6.73kmMy stay at the Residence inn, Escazu that I book with Marriott points ended terribly. Although the staff was great , the manager lacks problem solving skills. Manager Gerano Morantes had difficulty understanding that at 11pm the night before the hotel Had screaming people , drunks and Music blasting so loud , I had it measured by an app on my phone , that stated it would cause permanent hearing loss. I had to take a cab to the airport the next day at 5 am to the airport and it was now almost midnight and music was still rattling the windows of the hotel. I had to call the police which in fact confirmed that this was ilegal. I got no sleep and was dealing with a death in the family. I was a paying guest on points for this stay from the 27 of March through the 1st of April. I came to Costa Rica for dental surgery and was hoping for a quiet peaceful stay , for my entire stay. The manager wanted to interrogate me as to my employment and other issues, that were non of his business and had no bearing on this stay. I was hoping just to get my points back for just this one night and wait till I returned home for further evaluation on my blown eardrum. He was fishing for any possible excuse asking personal questions. I have been i the travel industry for 30 years and have never experienced such. If you want any kind of peace and quiet DO NOT STAY AT THE RESIDENCE INN ESCAZU , Costa Rica . Escándalo toda la noche ! STAY AWAY you will not get sleep

The bed was very cosy. We had no warm water for 2 days in our room, but the staff reacted instantly, tried to fix it and we got a free breakfast and some money back. Clean kitchen, enogh fridge space and a cool sofa space in the living kitchen. In total we had a nice and relaxing stay amd would definitly recommand this hostel.

I am writing to share my recent experience at Hotel Cultura Plaza in San Jose, Costa Rica, and to caution those considering a reservation at this establishment. During my stay at the hotel, I encountered a significant issue with the room I was assigned. Unfortunately, some of the rooms at this hotel do not have windows and resemble prison cells rather than comfortable accommodations. Understandably, I refused to accept such a room and immediately contacted Booking.com to seek a resolution. To my disappointment, the hotel displayed a lack of cooperation, even after three hours of mediation with Booking.com. Despite our best efforts, the hotel refused to address the issue adequately, leading to the cancellation of my reservation. Furthermore, the hotel has also declined to refund the payment I made for the booking. Throughout this process, their responses were consistently rude and unhelpful, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. In addition to the room issue, I feel it is important to mention that the dining room for breakfast at Hotel Cultura Plaza is extremely small, akin to a small bar with only about four tables. This limited space may make it challenging to find a seat during busy periods, and it can detract from the overall dining experience. Given my disappointing experience and the hotel's uncooperative attitude, I want to urge prospective customers to exercise caution when considering a reservation at Hotel Cultura Plaza. Please be aware of the lack of windows in some rooms, the prison cell-like appearance, and the limited dining space for breakfast. It is my hope that by sharing this message, I can help others make informed decisions and avoid potential frustrations. As consumers, we should be able to expect a certain level of quality and service when choosing accommodations, and unfortunately, Hotel Cultura Plaza fell short of these expectations. Pasamos las primeras y las últimas noches de un viaje en familia (dos adultos y dos adolescentes) de poco más de un par de semanas por el país. Como aterrizábamos y despegamos en San José buscábamos un buen hotel, cómodo y tranquilo para la llegada y reservamos Rincón del Valle. La experiencia fue tan buena que decidimos alojarnos de nuevo antes de partir, así la pena la llevaríamos mejor. Acertamos de lleno las dos veces: personal súper amable y eficiente, instalaciones en continua mejora, camas cómodas y desayuno excelente (el primer desayuno en Costa Rica, típico del país, no pudo ser más acertado). Y pudimos hacer un poco de bicicleta y cinta para combatir jet lag y tantas horas de vuelo. La ubicación ideal, tranquilo, bien comunicada, con oferta gastronómica cerca, el estadio nacional... El viaje lo tomamos bastante por libre y en el hotel nos aconsejaron y ayudaron a descubrir San José y sus tips sobre distintos destinos y actividades fueron top. Nos gustó todo el viaje, pero la primera impresión en un país desconocido es importante, y ahí ya nos ganaron, empezamos a entender que significa PURA VIDA. Volveremos a Costa Rica o a Centro América, y seguro dormiremos y desayunaremos de nuevo en Rincón del Valle. Gracias por todo. Pura vida.

We enjoyed the location, being out of the city of San Jose - but close enough to walk into town if we wanted. The La Sabana park is very close & a safe park to explore. There are restaurants & shops a quick walking distance as well. If we make it back to San Jose, my husband and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

The property is lush and looks like you are transported a couple hundred years ago but resort is only 35 years old (from Marriott employee Fernando who gives tours of the property). There are two pools and a hot tub surrounded by so much lush vegetation. My initial room was 528 which is a handicap room but was quickly switched to 631 which has a walk-in shower with a glass door. The room had a modern feel with artwork of coffee beans. There was plenty of space at the desk as well as couch area. The breakfast was delicious and the servers were wonderful. Breakfast even starts at 6am, great for work trip. There is also a shuttle that runs on a schedule (see attached photo).

They went out of their way to ensure our tours were well arranged and our breakfast in the hotel was jsut excellent. The happy hour was great as well. The hotel is extremely clean. All of the staff were courteous and ensured we knew where we were going. It was hard to come home becasue it felt like we were home away from home. The Manager too came by and ensured we were having a great stay.
