Our Villa, Samos was beautiful, modern and bright, floor to ceiling windows and doors that opened onto terrace with comfortable chairs for lounging, table and chairs for outside dining, sun-loungers and our own private heated pool. In our garden terrace there is honey suckle and a little grass area and a variety of plants and trees. Panoramic views of the Islands and the sea.The sunrise at 6.30 every morning, a spectacular sight. It was all so pretty. The villa is on one level but has stairs down to the private spa room. Which has a stream room, shower, massage bed, candles and music station for docking to play relaxing music. I had two massages, one complementary, the other the Cretan massage, which is a full body massage and it was wonderful. Alexandra the therapist is very experienced and professional. She has a very gentle, friendly, manner and made me feel relaxed. I felt as if the the massage was catered for my body. It cost 150 Euros, well worth it. I went on holiday to relax, after my massage I felt a lightness and was more flexible. I will now have a massage once a month as Alexandra has proved the benefits. The hospitality is amazing! We called them the 'dream team'. They have all been there for a long time and are clearly happy to work there. Do talk to them and engage if you go there, as they are people with lives and family and they are only too happy to share their life experiences with you and tell you so much about their lovely island home. They also give you the best recommendations of places to go, places that they themselves go to. The walk down from Villa Samos to the restaurant and reception, is a walk of nature and sensuality. Hence the rosemary and honeysuckle and many other beautiful plants native to Crete. I am a little sad that I am not there now to see all of the flowers and trees in full bloom, they were just coming out when we were there. There is so much to do, we went to Knossos, Agios Nikolas and Plaka. Lovely days out, and not to crowded when we went. Good shops, excellent choices of food. Plaka has got a wine shop called the Delicatessen, which is worth a visit for all wine lovers. Elounda Gulf Villas provide rest and relaxation at a luxury level. So if you don't want to go out you can stay in. It is such a beautiful resort that you actually don't want to be away from for to long We will be going back. Thank you, Louise, Angela, Evey, Stathis, Sophia, George, George and George, Mikalis, Manos, Alexandra, Isadore, Yannis and last but certainly not least, the lovely Anastasia xx The food in the restaurant is amazing and the chef made us a wonderful chocolate gateaux for our wedding anniversary. Compliments to the chef!

The hotel was well located and the room spacious and well furnished. All parts of the hotel were kept extremely clean. Service was good, particularly at reception. The restaurant was good but not outstanding - the breakfasts were probably the best and I particularly liked the crystallised fruit which was an unusual touch. There was a bunch of roses in a vase in our room when we arrived, which were appreciated - but not only that, they were replaced twice during our stay. 2 slightly negative comments: (1) Bedroom slippers were provided in the room, which was great, but the cleaning staff changed them - and presumably threw the old ones away - about every 3 days which seemed very wasteful. (2) The transfer on our outward journey was very slow, taking 1 and a half hours with detours to Sissi and Agios Nicolaos before finally arriving at Elounda. At 10pm this was not welcome (the operator was Jet2). We were not the only ones who paid for a taxi for our return to the airport. Some reviews have commented that the hotel is a bit tired, which is unfair and gives the wrong impression. It is true that some fittings - eg showers - are probably due for replacement, but the overall impression is bright and modern.

We stayed here for a week and although the hotel is basic the staff are very welcoming. The hotel was spotless and the room was cleaned regularly with towels changed every day. We stayed all inclusive and found the food to be great. There was loads and a varied choice. For the money I would recommend this hotel for a short stay for adults. The hotel is ideally located, very close to the beach and a short walk to the lake with many coffee shops and restaurants near by. There is a pool, but the seating area beside it is small.

The photos really don’t do this hotel justice. It’s beautiful with its own private beach. We stayed for a week at the end of the season and had the most amazing time. The hotel is clean, bright and welcoming. The restaurant staff are brilliant and the food excellent. Although the hotel is built into the hillside, there are 3 lifts and golf type buggies to get about on as it’s very steep in places. We used the gym a lot and it’s very well equipped, clean and air conditioned. The beach is great with a restaurant/cafe and bar. The staff there (especially Marianna and Chris) are brilliant. We also hired one of the boats a couple of times to sail around the bay. Also walked into Elounda which takes about 20/25 minutes at a stroll. Take care in places though as there aren’t any paths. All in all we’re definitely going back and probably in October again. Brilliant!

Very interesting cozy centrally located hotel. Warning, many stairs. Also must be careful to get in writing, confirmation of the exact room you have been promised. We were a couple, and a friend, so needed 2 rooms, next to each other preferably. Why we booked early. We booked the 2 honeymoon suites with balcony on the top floor, 1 year before arrival. 2 weeks before our arrival we emailed hotel to inform them of our arrival time and to confirm our reservation for the 2 honeymoon suites with balcony on the top floor. We received confirmation email confirming our reservation for the 2 honeymoon suites with balcony and that they were on the top floor. The day we arrived we, the couple were given as confirmed, one of the honeymoon suites with balcony on the top floor. Our friend was put in a room in another wing of the hotel in a room with no balcony. She couldn't have been any further away from us the way the hotel is setup. We immediately talked to the receptionist, showed her our emails confirming our reservation and that our friend did not get the honeymoon suite with balcony on the top floor that she had booked, paid for, and was confirmed multiple times by hotel. She told us the owner would talk to us in the morning. In the morning he offered to move our friend to the room down the hall to ours, however it was not the honeymoon suite, as they had given it to a longer term renter. Nothing we could do but accept, at least our friend was close to us and happy with the new room. He also gave us free breakfast for the last 2 days of our stay. We appreciate his effort in trying to right this wrong, but does not change the fact that he did not honour our confirmed reservation in order to accept a longer term renter.
