Spirited awsy

I come here coz of the sprites away anime movie. Worth it to do so! Stay a night nearby and go for onsen . It is small but traditional!

Good for night photo

It's the Dogo Onsen at night with coloured window screens lighted up, perfect for photo-taking. Must visit this location both day and night as the feel was completely different.

Historical drum house

Shinrokaku is the upper part of Dogo Onsen Honkan, and actually it is a drum house. The name came from a miniature of heron on its top. You can not enter inside, but can take a look from outside.

数十回、この温泉地に来ているが、一回もこの本館には入ったこともない。

古い建物の屋根の上に載っているシンボル塔みたいなもんですが、この本館自体、わたし的には何の魅力も無いし、ここの湯に浸かりたいとも思わない。私の嗜好としては古いとか歴史あるとか云うものよりも、超近代的で綺麗で清潔で設備も充実している現代的な温泉の方が魅力がある。俳人や作家には何のノスタルジアも感じない方なので・・・。入る湯じゃなくて、外から建物を眺める湯だと思っている。
