Located on the Yalu River on the Sino-Korean border, it is a little more than a kilometer from Dandong Station. The Yalu River Broken Bridge and the Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge, which are less than 100 meters apart, were built by the Japanese at that time. The bridge was built in 1909 and completed in 1911. It was blown up by an air strike on November 8, 1950. The Broken Bridge has been protected and repaired by Dandong Municipal Government for many times. It is now a famous tourist attraction and must visit the Broken Bridge in Dandong. Although it has been repaired, some bullet traces of the war have been retained. There are only a few lonely piers on the Korean side. The bridge body is a unique open-closed girder suspension bridge design, that is, a section of the bridge body can rotate 90 degrees parallel, said to facilitate navigation of large ships on the Yalu River. I reckon that the Japanese also had the idea of blocking the traffic between the Northeast and North Korea when they needed it. Walking on the broken bridge with my own feet, I feel a little excited. Although I don't need to protect peace and motherland for the time being, I still want to experience a feeling of grandeur and high spirits. Standing at the front of the bridge, looking at both sides of the Yalu River, there is China in the picture below, which side is North Korea, don't say much!!!
