Xisha Marine Museum is located in Sansha City, Hainan Province (Yongxing Island), founded in 1989. It is the southernmost marine museum in China, and the only marine museum founded by soldiers in China. Officers and soldiers stationed on the island made specimens of some turtles and shellfish collected from the beach for centralized display.


