Xining Botanical Garden, located in Xishan Bay of Xining, is a natural park. It is a large modern garden green space which integrates sightseeing, popular science research, garden art exhibition, garden plant breeding and promotion, endangered plant protection and so on. It reflects the unique plant landscape of the plateau, creates the garden plant allocation art with plateau characteristics and local ethnic characteristics, and introduces the adaptation at home and abroad. Cultivated plants with local climatic characteristics can enrich the species and varieties of landscaping trees and provide elegant and beautiful recreational and tourist places for the public. Most of the botanical gardens visitors visit are in the downhill area. There are nine gardens, such as bonsai garden, clove garden, rose garden, pine and cypress garden, rock garden and so on. Among them, bonsai gardens are the most popular, with unique shape and elegant construction like Suzhou gardens.
