愛牆坐落在法國巴黎市眾多文人聚居的北蒙馬特高地半山腰上的一個街頭小公園裡，在小公園裡有一面黑藍色的牆，牆有40平方米，由511塊深藍色的長方形瓷磚組成，上面用311種字體和280種語言寫滿了同一句話"我愛你"。在牆的最左側可以找到豎排的3个中文字，但其中的"愛"字是繁體。在牆的上方有一幅美女像，身穿深藍色弔帶裙，斜倚一張小桌上，旁邊幾行小字寫道:"保持理智，強求是不可能的"，這就是愛牆的鼻祖。
