崗頂前地古稱磨盤山，該地段雖然不大，但比起遊人如織的議事廳前地，這裏的自然環境清幽典雅，人文宗教景觀薈萃。如崗頂劇院、聖奧斯丁教堂、聖若瑟修道院及何東圖書館，都屬澳門世界文化遺產中最古老的西式建築，是中西合璧的代表作。同樣不可錯過。前地的路面就是用葡國彩色石材鋪設而成的，那是葡萄牙人不遠萬里從葡國通過海路運到澳門的，主調為黃、灰、青等，石材被鑲拼成精美的波浪形、太陽花圖案，是觀賞性與裝飾性極強的特色組合，令人賞心悅目！
