The Royal Garden has a lot going for it as somewhere for lunch. You get to eat, outside in February, just metres from the ocean, with a view of La Gomera and, of course, the people watching opportunities of folk passing by. What it doesn’t have going for it is good food. They have OK food, but not good food – as in an OK lasagne with a decent thick béchamel but underseasoned and underflavoured meat. As in a just about OK chicken kebab that had overcooked dry meat, smothered in a tomato/onion/pepper sauce that I’d bet also gets with pasta. Comes with carrots straight from the freezer to the plate, via the microwave and chips

Located on Durbar Marg, one of the restaurants serving Indian and Chinese fares..Chinese fares are good while Indian fare is average..Starters are good..try their LHO rooms which provide low level seating for more comfort

we visited this restaurant twice. The food was excellent, and value for money. The local cuisine was very good, and is recommended. The ambiance too was good.

3/5不錯
The Royal Saino restaurant is located on Kingsway, the most posh road in Kathmandu. There is no parking so one has to park somewhere else and walk to the restaurant. Restaurant is spacious and is on the ground floor with outdoor and indoor tables. Décor is dated and lacks sparkle. Service was however courteous. Hors-d'oeuvre were good. We ordered momos, dal vada and paneer pakodas. All preparations were good and served in a tasteful manner. Main course was not equally good. We ordered North Indian dishes but most curries were quite dark in color though not bad in taste. Channa dal and naans were the best items. Serving sizes of curries were disappointingly small. Overall while the dinner was good in taste, the presentation was not appetizing to look at. Sweet dish was a disaster. Choice was very limited and the cut fruit served with cream was a washout.
