The palace of Kun Ning is the cream of ancient Chinese palace architecture. It belongs to one of the three rear palaces of the Imperial Palace in Beijing and is located behind the Jiaotai Palace. Kunning Palace was built in Yongle 18 years (1420), Zhengde 9 years (1514), Wanli 24 years (1596) twice destroyed by fire, Wanli 33 years (1605) reconstruction. The Qing Dynasty was reconstructed in the second year of Shunzhi (1645), and the Qingning Palace in Shenyang was reconstructed in the twelfth year of Shunzhi (1655). In the second year of Jiaqing (1797), the Qianqing Palace caught fire and burned the front eaves of the palace. It was rebuilt in the third year of Jiaqing (1798). Qianqing Palace represents positive, Kunning Palace represents negative, to express the combination of yin and yang, heaven and earth.
