There is a street west of the presidential palace in Nanjing. There are many buildings of the Republic of China. Some of these buildings are apartments for young officers and a single large villa is the residence of Chiang Kai-shek's dentist. Now these buildings have been opened up into food strips. The exterior of the buildings is as old as before. Some of the interior decorations are very modern and some are very classical.
