If you are a book nerd - welcome to your mecca. Marsh's Library is the oldest public library in the country and holds over 25,000 books and 300 manuscripts!The library is also filled with other interesting parts of Dublin's history. For example, there are bookcases with bullet holes from the EasterRising, and three wired alcoves that were used to prevent book theft in the 18th century that were used by locking the reader inside to use the library's rarest books.

This was the library in Dublin I wanted to see the most as I love old books. It's tiny and full of supremely old books of every shape and size. When I visited they had an exhibit of books detailing maps and stories from when America was just being explored. The staff were even more delightful - completely willing to just stand around and chat about anything and everything.

Al salir de la catedral de San Patricio, si se camina un poco hacia la izquierda, se deja ver la entrada pequeñita hacia esta librería que parece estar escondida. Se abrió por primera vez en 1701 y tiene más de 25 mil libros del siglo XVI, XVII y XVIII especializados en literatura clásica, música, matemáticas, viajes, navegación, ciencia y leyes. Hay que pagar un precio pequeño para entrar (no recuerdo tanto) y vale muchísimo la pena. Es hermosa y llena de curiosidades.

Beatty爵士醉心於收藏手抄經書及中國和日本的藝術作品，所以這裡有大量中國和日本的傢具、繪畫、衣服、微雕等藝術品。手抄的聖經及可蘭經也是另外一個亮點，最古老的抄本竟然有千年的歷史，已經是殘缺不全的破片。
