The Lianhu Park was originally the Wangfu Garden of the Ming and Qin Dynasties. In the eleventh year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1378), the King of Qin, in accordance with the topographic fluctuations, adopted the method of conforming to the situation, drew water from Jiqu, dug ponds, opened canals and culverts, planted lotus flowers, and built "Lotus Pool". Since then, it has become a garden for Zhu Fan and his descendants to enjoy. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, because of silt channels, pools gradually dried up, coupled with years of war, Wangfu Garden gradually abandoned. Until the reign of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, the private garden of Wangfu Garden in Ming and Qin Dynasty was revitalized. In 1668, Jia Hanfu, governor of Shaanxi Province, dredged the Lotus Pool and planted lotus flowers to restore the old view. At the same time, temple buildings such as Yuanqing Temple and Dalian Temple were built beside the pool, and "Lotus Pool" was changed to "Free Life Pool". In the first year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1723), the lotus temple, the Yuanqing temple and the Dalian temple were rebuilt. Since then, a public resort with the temple as the main building and the lotus lotus as the scenery has been formed.
