This part of Amsterdam is wonderful! The city is beautiful and clean, the locals are cheerful and friendly, and everything is so close! I traveled as a single female for three days in this part, and I felt incredibly safe the entire time. Just watch out for bikes!

This is the popular and vibrant part of Amsterdam, which is slowly earning a reputation for itself as THE place to be. It originally started out as a district for the working class and the poor, but these days it is full of little boutiques and independent shops. There are also a lot of art galleries, and endless choices of cute little cafes to sit and enjoy a coffee in. Just watch out because some things can be a little overpriced because it is becoming so popular.
