The Buddhist temple is located in the Needle and Thread Hutong in Dongzhimen, Beijing. Its history can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty. It was first founded by a eunuch in the Ming Dynasty, and was rebuilt as a Nisi Temple in the Ming Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, renamed "Buddhist Buddhist Buddhist Buddhist forest". In 1942, Kaihui Shengyu expanded the temple. The temple area was expanded to more than 4 acres, and the temple was renamed "Tongtong Temple".
