Guests are invited to take a guided tour of this massive vessel, focusing most on the ship's deck and her array of pulverizing cannons as well as the history behind the Missouri's most well known duty. The site of the official surrender of Japan, and the end of World War II, this hulking device designed to be the ultimate example of over-water destructive force is now memorialized as a location from which peace overcame. I guess you could call that irony since it's an example of how military power can be ultimately a tool for peace rather than only destructive.
