Although St. Mark's Square is the heart and soul of Venice, there are many "other" in Venice. Otherwise, Venice would not be so charming. Santa Maria della salute is not as gorgeous as St. Mark's Cathedral, but because of its good location, it is also a dazzling pearl in Venice. Salute Church stands at the mouth of the canal. No one who comes to Venice will miss it. Early in the morning, it is the most beautiful image, like a lady with a gorgeous corolla standing at the door of Venice's living room, smiling to welcome guests from all directions. This church is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture in Venice. It is a gift from the Government of the Republic to the Virgin Mary at the time of the Black Death in the 17th century. The church was built on more than a million four-meter-long stakes and was completed in 1687. The church is magnificent in appearance but simple in interior. There is an octagonal hall under the dome, surrounded by six chapels, and a huge chandelier in the middle adds a mysterious artistic atmosphere to it. The three altar sculptures and Titian paintings are the pride of the church. On the opposite side of St. Mark's Square, the church is to be crossed by boat or by the Academy of Fine Arts Bridge not far from the next door.
