1 day in Takayama
📌Getting There:
The most convenient and fastest way to do this is from the city of Nagoya by train or bus.
🚇 - by train from Nagoya station without transfers in two and a half hours, cost 6140 yen (it is better to book a seat in advance)
🚍 - by direct bus from Nagoya Eki Taikodoriguchi Station in two and a half hours, cost 3,600 yen
📝important note!
It is better to leave Nagoya for Takayama on the earliest train or bus, then you will have time to visit the morning market, and maybe both morning markets.
📌Attractions:
- Jinya-mae Morning Markets
- Miyagawa Morning Markets
Morning markets, both markets are very interesting, visit each! for me the local produce was more interesting, I found and bought honey produced by local bees.
- Takayama Shōwa-kan Museum
Showa Museum. Spend some money and visit this museum to step back in time. You can interact with the exhibits here.
- Takayama Sky Park
Within the city limits on the mountainside there is a park from which the best view of the city of Takayama opens up, be sure to take a walk in the park!
- Tenryo-no-yu
You can end the day in a public hot spring bath. The entrance is located through the central entrance of the Takayama Green Hotel
🛌Hotels:
- Country Hotel Takayama
Good hotel located across the road from the central station and bus station. Spacious rooms, possibility to have breakfast in the hotel.
🥢🍽️ Food & Restaurants:
- Kyōya
I recommend this restaurant, which serves local cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients grown in Takayama Prefecture.
🛍️🛒Shopping:
- At the morning markets you can buy souvenirs, clothes and food
- Luvit Town Takayama
A shopping center with a huge supermarket and everything you need!
- 2nd Street Takayama
A consignment shop where you can buy clothes, souvenirs, electronics and much more. Sometimes it's interesting to just walk around and see what's there)
📌Takayama turned out to be a very cozy city, the most important thing I would like to tell you is that you need to come here for at least 3 days!
