Hotel un po’ datato, sembra di stare in una vecchia dimora anni ‘50, una delle finestre non si chiudeva bene, qualche zanzariera era rotta e il bagno anche andrebbe rinnovato. La stanza era un po’ buia e qualche lampadina era fulminata. La pulizia andrebbe migliorata: le zanzariere e le tapparelle erano molto sporche, in camera c’era qualche formica e le scale che portano alle stanze non molto pulite. Staying at the Rex is like staying at your favorite relative's home; in fact the hotel was started by the owner's mother, whose picture is on the reception desk. If you are fortunate enough to meet the owner you'll get a huge bonus from your visit. But if she's not there, the huge rooms and huge, well--prepared breakfasts are reason enough to visit. Our party was upgraded to superior rooms, so I do not not know what the standard rooms are like, but all of our superior rooms were really spacious and airy and very comfortable. Hotel breakfast are a big thing in Greece, but after three weeks there, the hands-down winner for us was the Rex. A huge spread of fresh-made pies, cakes, breads, local cheeses, jams, meats, yogurts, eggs, cereals, puddings, featuring local and traditional recipes, greeted us both mornings we were there. The only problem: we wanted to try everything, which even with the greatest resolve we just couldn't do. If you have a reason to go to Zacharo-- it's a beach town, not far from Olympia-- do not miss the Rex!

This hotel is a real gem in Zacharo town. Located near the longest and most beautiful beach of Greece it is the ideal place to stay any time of the year. The rooms are spacious and very cute, the staff is professional, the breakfast is home made, very unique and consists of healthy and very special variety of ingredients, We will definitely visit again. Congratulations to Nadina -the sweet owner- who made us feel so comfortable and so pampered!

A lovely hotel, decorated with lots of interesting pictures, antiques and quirky touches. Sumptuous breakfast too, with amazing cakes and goodies. Definitely a great place to stay in this area, the beach is only a couple of miles away. We did have a small issue with the hot water, which was remedied straight away (the only criticism is that there was no suitable bath plug and I could not enjoy the very inviting corner bath and we would have loved to have some water in the fridge after a hot day's driving). Comfortable bed, nice linen. Lovely staff too and top marks for being dog-friendly. Bubble says 'thank you'.

A unique family run, hotel experience. What a lucky find, a real gem! We had not booked, just walked in by chance & found this very cosy comfortable large lounge like a private home with so many comfy sofas, books, games, photos, family items, a “help yourself” bar, log fire and very friendly hostess who welcomed us with free tea & cake. The bedroom was enormous with jacuzzi bath, a wonderful comfy bed with balcony overlooking pretty square. A fabulous breakfast of home made quiche, cakes bread etc & fried eggs. The hostess packed up spinach pie to take with us! We had dinner in taverna opposite which was excellent. Cannot recommend highly enough. A fabulous hotel.
