There is a pub downstairs and has the live performance till 11.

Went in with some friends for a few drinks. Well what can I say There was no one on the bar when we approached it. Waiting 5 minutes. A guy came from the fruit machine and went behind the bar to serve. Didn't even apologise or acknowledge we were there. We ordered our drinks and sat down. We were in the pub for about an hour and the guy behind the bar had his phone stuck to his ear talking to someone. He was still on the phone while he was serving customers and didn't acknowledge that the customers were there. My partner went back to the bar for a drink and he was still on his phone. When we left the guy was still on his phone talking to someone still while serving customers. I found him very rude and unapproachable. I was hoping that when the pub got taken over it would be a better place to go for a decent drink. But unfortunately not. Don't get me wrong the pub was clean and looks lovely inside and it's cheap. But!!!! You get what you pay for. Cheap beer but crap service with no atmosphere. My friends and I will NOT be returning which is a shame because the pub has potential it just needs the right people to run it.

The show didnt appera to have been cleaned from previous occupant The traffic was noisy as the room was on the corner of the hoten No 5 also below where a set of traffic lights no double glazing on the window so noisy from the traffic particularily lorry traffic . also avoid nights when there is a band playing bery very loud and contines to 11 pm (Not recommended) only stayed one night instead of 2 due to noise from band and traffic

Absolutely amazing Sunday roast staff are so friendly and welcoming this is now my weekly go to for a big fat belly full of deliciousness thank you so much shelli and team you never fail with your amazing food always so consistent no matter how busy you are xxx

Hi just came back from the Victoria hotel wot a lovely friendly pub we got there early a girl came out and said we could leave our car in the car park till we checked in at 2 pm so we went for a walk into the centre we were staying there for one nite to see Micheal ball at the Barbican theatre I was so pleased it was 5 mins walk to get there wen we got back from the centre we were showed to our room it was small it had everything you needed for a nite lovely towels tea and coffee lovely clean sheets a comfy bed as well wot can you ask for for 78 pound a nite we had a drink in the bar the girl was lovely keep up your gud work we saw the boss think they called him Jonny he was really friendly we didn’t stay for breakfast although we asked him did he cater for celiac which my husband was he said he did next time we will stay for breakfast we throughly enjoyed our stay and next morning we asked the boss could leave our car in the car park he said no probs so that give us more time in York our car was perfectly safe they had cctv you have to try this hotel pls thank you so much Jonny n staff we definitely gona stay again xx

The service was amazing, staff are really friendly we loved the music early 2000’s was exactly what you were looking for. Really enjoyed the atmosphere the lights being on added a nice touch! Was lovely to speak to you Shell we enjoyed it a lot!

Great little pub, we stayed overnight because we were going to the barbican which was ideal ( it's about 2 mins walk from the pub) the accommodation was very clean with comfy bed and great bathroom. We had breakfast in the morning which was lovely and plenty full thanks especially to Kerry who looked after us, would definitely stay again and would recommend. 5 stars.

Lovely Friendly traditional pub very welcoming.. very enjoyable Sunday lunch and value for money good portions .. Would definitely recommend for a Sunday lunch ,, we will be visiting again 👌🏻 we’ll done too all staff involved… xxx 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
