Food very bland. Only 1 gluten free option. Service slow. Room boiling hot and no way to turn bathroom radiator off. TV small & slanted. Breakfast was like a canteen. Dirty tables not cleared away which had to sit on as none were clean. No glasses to have juice. No fruit salad left. Only 1 man serving so service very slow. Won’t visit again.

No WiFi or o2 signal , with the exception of one member of staff everyone was just doing their job no more no less ,rats around the accommodation, outside when i saw them .

We have been calling at this pub for years and loved it … today the food was seriously BAD BAD BAD. Overcooked - Cold - the fish I had to spit out as I couldn’t CHEW IT!!!!! I know you’re supposed to call this to the attention of the staff but the waitress could clearly see my plate had hardly been touched. So disappointed. Have you changed the chef as this was not what we were used to in your restaurant. Batter so hard you could have broken your teeth. My partner asked for ketchup for us both, what arrived was the tiniest portion of one teaspoon of ketchup. Portion size has dramatically reduced as for desserts what we saw was definitively not inspiring. Wake up and read your reviews as your responses are all the same …. Clearly management are not listening either.

We stayed at the Kings Head while walking the Cleveland way. Our room was excellent, really modern and very comfortable. The towel rail was so hot we dried our socks on it. The food was OK and the service was very good. The music in the dining areas for dinner and breakfast was too loud for me. I asked if it could be turned down which they did so Thank you. We couldn’t face walking back up and over Roseberry Topping to get back on the path so we took a much easier route around. I could not fault the Kings Head would recommend it to anyone walking the Cleveland Way.

Went for my birthday today with my wife. All of the hand pulled ales were off because 'it takes 48 hours to tap them'? Caffrey's was on, but actually wasn't. Ordered 2 meals, only 1 arrived. Staff just laughed it off and were unapologetic. The place has gone right down hill.

A very enjoyable stay with good helpful staff. Good and an interesting food and drink menu. The restaurant area and Breakfast area light and airy. Great views of Roseberry Topping and just a short walk into Great Ayton a lovely village with good facilities.

Nice location, lovely clean cosy room. I would have liked more vegetarian options on the menu. We did choose to eat elsewhere because of this. Delicious breakfast. The staff were lovely and incredibly helpful. Overall a really lovely stay

Would highly recommend, staff and service were excellent. Food, drinks and rooms are amazing. Will definitely be back for another visit and certainly promote The Kings Head Inn as a perfect place to stay. 10 out of 10 all round.
