Bass is not exactly centrally located, it takes a good 15/20 minutes to walk to Cascades and you will need a map or Google to get there. It's also not in a very attractive area to walk. Reception staff is not always able to communicate in English, depends on who's there at the time. There's often an elderly couple hanging around the lobby (the owners ?) and they certainly don't communicate. I got room 201, which was large with 2 single beds and plenty of space for luggage. Mini bar, small TV, desk and lounge seats. Bathroom is good with both shower and bath. My safe was not working, so the elderly man came up and changed it over. I had some trouble operating the TV and find English channels, so the same man came up and tried to sort out, but could not. My A/C was not working ; first they said they'd fix it, but then decided that "I should open the window". That was OK during the day, but got me the street noise at night . . . Breakfast is pretty standard with the usual choice of cold cheeses and meats, but no fresh juice or coffee. Look, Bass is OK, but it is not boutique. It is good value for money.
