New ownership = Much higher prices! We have stayed at Fontana for over a decade now. We have stayed in 4 different cabins thru the years.. We were excited that they renovated our cabin but then we stayed there… Someone with No Hospitality design experience designed the cabin renovations: Impractical, uncomfortable furniture in the living room. No air in newly renovated bathroom. No vanity lighting, No shelf in closets, Less closets and No dressers to store clothes in?! Could not sleep as someone picked a nice new fabric for windows and not blackout blinds. AC was bad as always. Bad workmanship, cabinet doors falling off still. Could look straight outdoors by the fireplace install. 4 adults could not eat at the new 42” round dining table! We used to have a dinner party in our room but No more!

This facility lost all of my business and loyalty when they refused to give my son and daughter their deposit back from their wedding. If they can’t be trusted to return money they can not be trusted to have my support or businesses. Keep driving and find another hotel.

Fontana Villiage is in process to becoming a MUST VISIT location for Individuals, Couples and Families. The Staff is AMAZING and will cater to your every need to make sure that your visit is an AWESOME ONE ! The 2 bedroom Cabin house we stayed in was HOME AWAY FROM HOME !! IT had everything we needed and the surroundings were beautiful !! Sounds of Birds singing, water was rushing in a small creek near our cabin....it was truly Heavenly !!! Rocking chairs on the porch and deck gave us the Peace we were looking for ! Such a BEAUTIFUL place ! A MUST VISIT !! Things are getting better and better !! MUCH fir the family to do from renting a boat out on the beautiful lake, taking in a breathtaking sunset or sunrise. There is an amazing swimming pool with a lazy river to lay back an relax in, a putt putt golf course and even a Frisbee golf course. Food is amazing, from a great breakfast, hamburgers for lunch and an amazing dinner at whatever level your budget allows. The Ribeye Steak was out of this world. This is our New.....GO TO PLACE ! ITS AMAZING !!!

Loved the concept, We came up to do some riding and get some photos of waterfalls or I would have liked to stick around and try out more of the amenities. That was the good. When we first walked into the room the air smelled fresh and I could smell signs of cleaning. What I could not smell was signs of clean sheets or pillows when I finally went to bed. While they looked clean they smelled of body odor. Too bad I liked the place.

So the resort charged me $ 63.71 for the non-existent room WIFI. I called my credit card company showed them the proof and several other customer complaints for a full refund of their charges! I am in no way a legal professional but to charge a person for something that knowingly can't be delivered as expected is a problem...

First the good things. The shower had good pressure, the AC in my room worked! The bad: there was no Wi-Fi in my room had to go down to the lobby to use my phone! They charged me $30 for the non- capable Wi-Fi! There was black mold in my bath room! The room had 2 outlets! The sink was approximately 23 inches wide! The Devore was 40 years old! They changed my linen with blood stained sheets. The lodge had a meal no extras or fanfare, just a bowl of food for $27. The area is under some sort of repair. I did sit by the lower pool it was also nice to a degree! The upper pool is not there anymore filled in with dirt! Obviously I won’t be back!

Undergoing renovations by new owners. Comfortable stay in the newly renovated lodge. Service staff was friendly. Lots of outdoor activities possible. Beautiful location in the Nantahala National Forest. Rates reasonable for this type of resort. Was here on a service trip.

I reserved a room on 2/5/24 for an Oct/Nov one week vacation at the MMI Hotel Group managed/owned property of Fontana Village. I confirmed the reservation by phone with Fontana, a few days after the online RCI reservation was made. Seven weeks later I was told by RCI that Fontana was under new ownership/management of the MMI Hotel Group, and my reservation was cancelled, despite numerous vacancies of the unit I wanted for my vacation week. I emailed and called Fontana and the MMI corporate office and did not even get the courtesy of a response. Bottom line - have a backup trip vacation plan when you book Fontana or a MMI Hotel Group property - your reservation may get cancelled two months later.

Stayed in a cabin 5 stars. Front desk/24 hour stores...staff 5, inventory 4 but they were remodeling. Pit stop 5 stars, staff was super friendly. Restaurant 5 stars for food and staff. We only had breakfast there, but it was super yummy. Why 3 stars? We ate breakfast at the restaurant, but also took some to go. Unfortunately, we did not get the meat that was supposed to go with the breakfast. We were also charged 2$ for the cheese for our omelet. Originally, I didn't care too much about the cheese charge. After we discovered the missing meat I decided to contact the manager. I guess because we had already checked out, it was not important. We never received a response. Honestly, I'm pretty forgiving. A simple apology would have appeased me. No response makes me feel like they don't care. Which makes me wonder about the quality of everything if I decide to return. Therefore, I'm hesitant to recommend highly. Beautiful and worth the trip.
