Later, his daughters converted it to a guest cottage. The drops of paint on the floor from Smith's work more than half a century ago are preserved in the restored hardwood floor.Click the 'More Details' link to see the full description..............This petite cottage overlooks a lovely trout stream and faces the river and a 75 acre park with 2 mile walking trail just on the other side of the river that goes upstream and loops back through the forest to the edge of the property. When the river is low, you can hop across rocks to reach the trail on the other side. If the river is high, you can access the trail head by going into town, behind the outdoor Shakespeare stage next to the Woodstock town offices.............You don’t need a car to come to this Woodstock paradise!  From NewYork City, there is a bus to Woodstock.  The bus stop is about a half mile from the Teahouse, a 10 minute walk. There's a food market 2 blocks from the bus stop if you need supplies. ..........Originally built in the 1870's as a small barn on the estate. This 1870's vintage antique post and beam barn has been fully renovated, while preserving it's original charm - new bath, new kitchen, restored antique hardwood floors, queen size pillow top mattress in the sleeping loft. This lovely spot is just over a mile from the Woodstock Town Green, situated on a small road, nestled into a hillside, where you can watch the leaves change during the day and enjoy a cozy wood fire at night. It is serviceable to the Thanksgiving dinner level , and it is lovely for cozy coffee klatching. The spacious, open living/dining area has a cathedral ceiling and wood-burning stone fireplace. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds, and the third has an antique brass double bed. The third bedroom/study, upstairs, has a cathedral ceiling as well as a spectacular view. The house sleeps 6 adults comfortably.
