Good arrangement, clean room, convenient parking

We stay here a couple of times a year due to location and price, the first couple of years was amazing. But our last two trips have been disappointing the first time I waited for a while to check in, once I found the bell to call for assistance a rather annoyed receptionist came in and asked “how can I help?” I replied by saying “Id like to check in please.” she then abruptly told me she was the only one in and over the other side of the hotel. I stood in silence because how else was I supposed to respond to the question. I have worked in customer service and know that there's more going on then just reception so I kept it moving and checked in. We came into our room covered in cobwebs, dust and hair in the bath room, the cherry on the cake was a large brown stain on one of our towels. My partner went to reception to explain what had happened the woman took notes and assured it would be dealt with even took the towel to bring it up in the morning meeting. We left it at that it was the first time we had any issue and there was no point in getting workers in trouble for something they were willing to resolve, hence no bad review. Now we come again this year to a dirty room stains on towels the bath I cleaned so I could use it. The dirty wasn't the only issue there was peeling paint in the bathroom, and the room just wasn't up to par. After being told the last time issues would be addresses I decided now I'd leave a review instead of talking to staff, I understand linen and towels are usually washed outside by a separate company but the housecleaning staff are the last defence and should check towels. They are the back bone of hotels your experience isn't just the receptionist it's the quality of cleaning, the attention to detail and for them to either be understaffed, untrained or not care about the quality of work is sad to see. I don't expect 4* but a clean room and towels is something I do for my house guests and they arent paying to stay. It's the bare minimum. We will not be returning I'd rather pay more and have clean towels then have to explain to a receptionist after a seven hour journey that it's not clean.

On arrival I was impressed with the size of the car park. The receptionist was polite, friendly and very helpful. She ensured that I was going to be pleased (and I was). I liked the security at the remote building - not too much but just right (and it all worked as it should). My room was ok - in my case it was just a bed for the night. It was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed being there. The adjoining restaurant was a nigh**are. When you dine on your own you know that you're never going to get a good table - but my table was in the corridor. After 30 minutes of waiting to be seen (no drink or food order taken) I had to stop a waitress and ask if I had to go somewhere to submit an order. She told me that they were busy and I'd have to wait. The food (when it did eventually arrive) was some of the best that I have had for a long time. My fillet steak was just perfect in quality and how I wanted it cooked. I could probably have cut it with a tissue paper. The taste was incredible. It took 90 minutes to just get 2 courses. I wanted a third course but sitting in a corridor for 90 minutes with a party of unruly noisy children right behind me was enough. I asked for the bill - but like the food, that was never going to materialize so I took myself off to find someone who would take my payment. In summary - the food in the restaurant is excellent but the service is terrible. From my seat in the corridor, it looked like the staff were working hard but there simply wasn't enough of them for the number of diners - and this was only 7pm so it was a quietish part of the evening. Bear this review in mind but don't let it stop you going to this hotel and restaurant.

Have stayed here many times over the last 12 years and this was the worst. Stay ever. The room wasn’t clean, long black hairs in the bath, a toenail on the floor and dirty window frames. Poorly maintained room, safety chain not complete with screw sticking out, bathroom skirting peeling paint. The bed was 2 singles which should have been tied together with a metal strap, it wasn’t and the metal strap was on the floor and I grazed my big toe on it. The lighting was poor by the door and a light was out over the sofa. The annex has very poor noise insulation. It sounded like elephants were stomping above us. On the last night we returned to the annex to find a number of youngsters outside the open door, rowdy. They ran up the stairs and went into the room above us and were jumping about for a while. Above our bathroom the ceiling was creaking that night and then in the morning.

Great checkin, helpful staff, lovely big room for family of four in the annex with bath, nice and warm, great breakfast with good choice of food. Good location, nice to go for a walk down the tow path right next to the hotel. Easy to get to. No orange juice at breakfast, but they had decaf tea this time unlike our last stay at a premier inn at Canary Wharf. Pillows hard and not the best but bed comfy. Overall great stay.

Lovely spacious room, unlimited tea and coffee and plenty of car parking. You could purchase the internet for £5 for 24hrs. The Inn next door was great and did lovely food. There was a canal that ran the back of the property was interesting to watch. I would stay here again.

The restaurant is in a listed building in a pretty location next to a canal. Excellent food and great value. The rooms are up to the usual high standard one has come to expect from Premier Inn. Plenty of convenient ground floor rooms and adjacent parking. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay. The hotel is very quiet, the rooms are very clean. The staff very helpful and give you a warm welcome when you arrive. The hotel is next to the canal so it is great going for walks in the evening
